Duty cycle to get more power?

That might just have been a "freak" diode, like we get every so often a diode that is more efficient or tougher than the rest, like sometimes we get a weaker diode too. Don't you think it might have been that instead?

Duty cycle to get more power?

Interesting. Do you have a link for that? I was under the impression that laser diodes didn't care if they're being run CW or pulsed. After all, most laser diodes are being run pulsed in commercial applications. I always thought initial turn on was a limiting factor to incandescent and...

Ballin led tutu plan needs some help

Yep those batteries will be fine and they will fit that holder. I wouldn't count on them being charged when you get them so you need a charger, that's for sure.

Is this a Newwish pen with the aperture at the tip and some air underneath? I had these symptoms like you and in my case it was trapped pocket lint.:D

    continues laser

If Jose gets in trouble for blinding his neighbours camera, then that's HIS problem, right?;) Just use something like this connected to an appropriate voltage wallwart. $3.95 - Red Laser Module - Focusable Dot (3.5V~4.5V 16mm 5mW) - Red Lasers

    Spirograph, the 765th.....

Sorry to disappoint you, those are the volume knobs from the CD-ROM drive.:D And they are "tuned" with a resistor in parallel, but the control is horrible.:D One has the motor stopped for all but the last 1/10th of the range, another one only goes from "slow" to "somewhat faster" over the whole...

    1W 808nm for night vision

That one would fit the Aixiz, and I guess they are "case positive", too. All laser diodes have a case pin, just some of them use it as the anode (IR), others as the cathode (most reds), yet others (BluRay and 445nm) are "case isolated" and it doesn't connect to anything electrically. These case...

    1W 808nm for night vision

No, the other way 'round, these IR diodes have their anode connected to their case, so it touches the battery + directly. The driver goes between battery - and the diodes isolated cathode.

    1W 808nm for night vision

Hello and welcome to the forum! The Aixiz module won't fit this diode, it is 9mm while the Aixiz is made for 5.6mm diodes. You would need something like this: 9mm diode housing with glass lens for red laser or 808 nm laser [OL9mm] - $7.20 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser...

    26 Terabits per second laser

Apparently a new record in data transmission. Using a single laser to send data in multiple wavelengths. I didn't quite get how they did that, but it's cool nonetheless. BBC News - Laser puts record data rate through fibre

this POPULAR host/laser has a secret....can install optical effect

I bought a 5 in 1 green pen from ebay, pulled the tip's adapter and then grinded and filed and sanded it down, that's why it's so flat.;) Hmm good question, does it work for a 445nm beam..... I tried holding the effect cap in front of a blue laser, and it DID work, but maybe some part of the...
