NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm.. and possibly 650nm

I tried to MOD NJG-18. I stacked 82K ohm resistor over R1(10K ohm). This reaches 1.8A output. After connecting A140 diode (from DTR) and 32600, the power of Hi mode is max 2070mW then stabled at 1850-1900mW. But some protected 18650 shut the power like when shorted. The only protected 18650...

NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm.. and possibly 650nm

Hi. HIMNL9.:) There is the diagram that DTR linked previously at post #98: Some random thoughts on the NANJG-18 | BudgetLightForum.cz.cc Is there a way to mod Ra/Rb for higher current(or voltage)? (R1, R2 and pot in NJG-18) SHIN edit] "7N11" written on 5-pin chip of NJG-18

NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm.. and possibly 650nm

Re: NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm and red Hi. qumefox. I used the "rkcstr" standard test load at this time.(4x 1N4001, 1ohm) Your trial of LOC, gave me a hint for using 1N4001 for voltage-drop. Previously I didn't have a plan for the red, because I thought there would be a...

NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm.. and possibly 650nm

Re: NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm Good News for red! I built a SOC-NJG18 with one 1N4001 today. Success! After soldering 1N4001 to NJG18, I set the current about 300mA at high. I soldered to SOC. With my LPM, I set the pot again to raise the power until 200mW. Awesome! It's a...

    808nm 300mW driver help?

Hi. shantec. Welcome to the forum. Try a amc7135 board with single Li-ion battery. It is negative-regulator, and there is no host insulation problem with IR LD. Because case pin of IR LD is positive. One of amc7135 can permit 350mA. There are many source for simple amc7135 board. One is...

Hi. ChrisNL. 3W 1ohm resistor can permit 1.7A. If you want a 2A test load, the wattage of 1ohm resistor is minimum 4W. If you want a 3A test load, the wattage of 1ohm resistor is minimum 9W. SHIN

NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm.. and possibly 650nm

Re: NJG-18, multimode boost driver for 445nm AFAIK he made the 1st LED drop-in module for minimag. I still have some madmax and badboy bought 6-7 years ago... These fit for minimag - 14500(AA) size I think these two are not suitable for 1W+ 445nm with single Li-ion. I don't have any idea of...

    Help Building Test Load

    Hi. rhd. I think when I built 4(2s2p), 9(3s3p) and 16(4s4p) with 1ohm resistors, all of them are 1 ohm. Please correct me if I was wrong...:yh: SHIN edit] And I think: 4S of 2W 1ohm = one of 8W 4ohm 4P of 2W 1ohm = one of 8W 1/4ohm 2P2S = one of 8W 1ohm

    Help Building Test Load

4 of 2W 1ohm equals one of 8W 1ohm. P = I*V = I*I*R 8 = I*I*1 I = 2.8 So this can be used for 2.8A test load. I heard that 5W/10W resistor like "coil in cement" may act like inductor. The test load with this resistor may not show the exact current of some drivers. SHIN

Need A Good Lens for my 650nm lpc-815 build

Hi. lazeerer. I post a pic. From the left, old plastic--open back plastic--"660nm AR plastic"--660nm glass. Upper one is 405nm glass for the comparison. AR tint of "660nm plastic" is bluer than 660nm glass, and 660 glass is somewhat purple. Not bad quality! Thanks for the rep.:) SHIN
