    laser levels

@Blackwolf A level with a potentiometer for power adjust would be great... I can help designing the electronics if you want it.

Fun in the garden...520 and white light! *PIC HEAVY*

Re: Fun in the garden... @Grainde I'm not really into photography (had to google HDR shot :), got some great results) but I'm going to get a camera, someday ( need $$$$) but I definitely know the quality of the pics I want. AND I really liked yours. I'll write down the shutter/iso...

    warn lasers any good...

As I said by pm... Beware it IR. Its invisible and not cool (not green as in the AD). Unless you are very experienced with lasers and have a specific purpose, I would not recommend a high power IR. Hell, neither a low power one! Its just too dangerous. Just sayin

    warn lasers any good...

The company might have changed from since then BUT I'd not recommend it yet. If you want quality, stay with skylasers, dragon lasers, CNI (or laserglow), optotronics, etc. Most mid-range lasers I knew are crap now... Maybe o-like still sells something? Do some research on yourself.

    warn lasers any good...

Hey, look at this link. Story: Someone bought a 300mW 808nm (infrared) laser, got one (after a few weeks of delay) rated 532nm (green), and turned it on and its 660nm (red) ! And...... its 5mW! of pure awesomeness and wonder. So I'd say... yeah they are of any good. Good at making a horrible...

Fun in the garden...520 and white light! *PIC HEAVY*

Re: Fun in the garden... GREAT pictures... Now thats a great scenery for taking laser pictures... I wonder if you got pics from different angles and during night (with lower illumination of course). What is your camera, by the way? Again, great pics. edit: Pictures should be in...

Red laser build issues / i need a reliable mentor

You're confusing current with voltage. Did you measure the driver output open? Without a load (test-load)? You need a test load for setting the driver first. You did that? edit: What is a Test load: some components soldered together that 'simulate' a laser diode, you connect that on your driver...

Lol thats a long vid. The biggest fail is @ 1:15 Or click here: 1:15 part edit: @8:06 the guy fails twice LOL. 8:06 part

    Building a blue laser plane

Well, with a fog machine on you will need a low power. It depends on illumination, floor color, fog density, etc. There will be children or pets on the vicinity, when the laser is on? Closer to the laser the danger is bigger. And you don't want to blind your guests ;) I'd buy a 445nm module...

The I "C" Red Battle Royale LPF Contest

For this C-mount red project, expensive, at very least. ;) Its much more easier and cheap to implement soft start on a linear driver capable of 5A. However, efficiencies are soooo low...

    Building a blue laser plane

It is 5mW and violet, it will be barely visible from a distance. What is the size wanted? distance from laser to wall? If you want blue, you will need a 445nm laser, with a heatsink. Then you put a line generator lens on front of it, and voila.

    Building a blue laser plane

You want it in the air or on the floor? I can't really understand your pic... Please be aware that lasers are hazardous for your eyes. And for your wallet ;) Welcome to the forums. Introduce yourself on the welcome section... edit: if you want the "blue line" on the air...

    Deal extreme green laser help

Probably it isn't 5mW. Maybe DX is rating these so low so they are allowed to sell it...

Advice needed on diode module for wood marking.

Yeah I'm worried with power... I guess I'll have to try it out. I never built a high powered violet (its not my fav wavelength...) but I'll think about it. When the money allows I'll get one :thanks: for the tip. @On thread It seems the laser type/power vary with different needs.

Advice needed on diode module for wood marking.

$130 from DTR. Who cares. It depends on the power the OP wants. I want a fast cnc, so I chose that ;) 9mm diode + g2 lens costs $130 + shipping from dtr. Without driver but thats not really an issue. I have a flexmod p3 lying around and I may have finally found a good use to it :wave...

    Feeler: LD Test Safety regulators

More info on how these "safety regulators" work is desirable. Especially for us, electronics guys ;)

Advice needed on diode module for wood marking.

Why better absorption when you can have double the power for the same price? I'm building a CNC (drawing - early stages yet) but I plan to use a 9mm 445 on it. Its the easiest way to follow imo. With a G1 it will have a bad beam - but we're aiming for burning here. :) For...
