my driver isnt giving the right current?

How much diodes are on your test load, and how much volts you're feeding the driver?

my driver isnt giving the right current?

The resistor power rating (measured in W) has nothing to to with the test load electrical performance. Its just the rating at which the resistor will dissipate heat. The resistance (ohms) and the tolerance (%) are important, the power rating being "over" x Watts, is enough. Yeah have you...

    Bad business with tonyt!!!

It depends on the woman... My gf really like my lasers. She even want a dvd burner laser or 635, she really loves the color ;) Maybe I'm just too nerdy and attract nerdy girls... ps: j/k. I'm not nerdy.

How to Replace Spring with Wires?

Each driver/diode has a different connection/pinout... Do you want us to guess what do you have? Repeating. Pictures, please.

    Lightscastle 200mW 532nm

Thanks for reviewing this, and for the pics. The laser/driver does heat up? The driver will lower current if too hot. Proper heatsink is recommended. You could measure current together with output power.

How to Replace Spring with Wires?

Then you take a couple pics and show us. Because I didn't knew a laser diode had springs.

    "flashlight" laser lens??

Laser light isn't very good at direct lighting an ambient. The light is monochromatic/coherent and one of these characteristics (dunno what?) makes the ambient looks lighted with some "sandy" light. Its hard to explain. Just remove the lens from some laser (carefully; beware with the insides)...

Blue 445nm build Issue-Laser turning off

Gotcha FLIR? Assuming no Turn the thing on and touch the heatsink (DON'T touch the driver electrical parts. Only the HS, with one finger). Measure tailcap current (using a multimeter in current (10A) mode; search on google). Re-check electrical connections, but I doubt that is the problem. Is...

Fun in the garden...520 and white light! *PIC HEAVY*

ALL your pictures are incredible... but  Thats just so beautiful... the water looks like 3d rendered for me. Actually if it were a couple pixels bigger I would use it as a wallpaper... I found it great! Seriously I need a camera that does HDR. Its a great function... ps: I'm amazed.

510 diode by some differences in manufacturing. Its a "freak" probably. IIRC these diodes don't die... they dim? anyways 200mA seems like a conservative rate

    laser levels

Just get yourself the module and the generator lens, and I can help with electronics. Pm me.

    o-like

Try some online vision tests. Search them on the safety forums in lpf... Yeah the goggles are crap. I got them too...

Fun in the garden...520 and white light! *PIC HEAVY*

Its lower powered, so yes its closer to blue for SURE... Maybe the "dud" Grainde said he got, isn't a dude at all... maybe a 510nm diode :p

    Review:NEW 2.5W+ 445nm Steel Laser by Blord

@Sinner  @Chris Its probably something that touched the diode window and burned inside, damaging the protective glass. I had 2 diodes exactly like this. There is a way for fixing (I did it with 5.6mm); extract the diode and de-can it. Refer to links...

Turn networking equiptment into a toaster

Those will have a interesting switch mode PSU inside. I destroyed some cisco routers/servers where I study. Teacher gave me one of the PSUs  Its 12v 0.5A, and 5V ~15A (as she said). I vote for... Sell it, if selling goes wrong, go for the psu and build the toaster

The laser hobby doesn't seem to like me

Maybe the diode were already dead, and you pressed it into the heatsink the wrong way? The hole for inserting the diode IS small. Its intended for a press fit. And soldering for a longe time (ie at removing ribbon or soldering wires) can damage the diode in a way it may look... 5mW. I've been...

    Selem 2013

[Dream_mode == 1] I was going to pass by Blacksburg for free beerz, but google maps don't know how to get me there. I think I'll go straight to SELEM. [Dream_mode == 0] :/ I'd like so much to witness such a great event. Be sure to take pics Len!! Someday we maybe meet in one of...
