    Just question for inspiration.

For me, it was practically lifelong. I knew that lasers existed since the late 80s, and saw my first one sometime in that decade, though I'll admit that I don't remember when or where, just that it was red. I grew up watching Star Trek: TNG, and for me, lasers were the real-life embodiment of...

The Golden Company: LPF's Compendium of the Rare Yellows, from Chartreuse to Amber.

Reformatted and info added. I had originally intended for this to be just the 'golden' 589 and 594 instead of all yellows, but what the community wants, it gets. :) Thanks! I've included everything from 555 to 594, so we can catalog it all. :) If anyone has ideas for companies, lmk and...

The Golden Company: LPF's Compendium of the Rare Yellows, from Chartreuse to Amber.

Re: The Golden Company: a 589 and 594 nm Roll Call Well, I suppose that's up to the community. If you all want them included, I'm certainly not opposed to it, but I had always thought of them as more of a green.

The Golden Company: LPF's Compendium of the Rare Yellows, from Chartreuse to Amber.

In this post, it was my original goal to build a comprehensive list of members with 589 and 594 nm lasers, with links to reviews where available. However, members objected to the lack of other yellow wavlengths, which also led to a desire for chartreuse (555-568) to be included (as it is as...

    *Updated 5-28* styropyro's Liquidation Sale

Re: styropyro's Liquidation Sale I didn't see anything about 583.5 on eforce or CNI, so I have a feeling that's a typo of 593.5.

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

Good stuff, I might get some of those. The Spartan has caused me to want to have a more, um, vibrant collection of colors than <5mW can provide. ;) UK, if the Laserbee Meyers aren't very good for what Hap and I are after, is there anything that would work better without breaking the bank?

    *Updated 5-28* styropyro's Liquidation Sale

Re: styropyro's Liquidation Sale CNI offered them, and they still offer the bigger modules that you'd find in a PGL-III-C or M. The more powerful 594 was in a PGL-III-C host, though according to CNI it was only 20mW (but we know how reliably overspec CNI lasers tend to be)...

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

Me too. I've been in the hobby since 1994. I remember when lasersbee was just an enthusiastic hobbyist beginning to figure this stuff out. I remember what it was like for all those years with no LPM, and I got used to it and never bought one. Now every noob has one and it really throws me...

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

There isn't too much if a difference, but it us definitely noticable. The difference in power between a Spartan and a 594 pen exacerbates the difference though, and it becomes very noticable. I'm ordering my Laserbee on probably Wednesday.

A Laserbee-A is $189. You've got over half of that already just in the money left over from your Aquarius after you buy the Spartan...

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

Everything that I've ever ordered from DL has been (apparently) untested.

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

Adams been telling people that for like five years, and he's right. These things fluctuate wildly in their output, with most getting about a minute of peak-ish power once the crystals are warmed up. Obey th duty cycle and it'll treat you good in that regard. Adam is covering his but against...

    Can 8-9 mw laser burn?

    You're doubtlessly right about that!

    Can 8-9 mw laser burn?

Lol, only if it's a very poorly put togethr 532 with no IR filter and 50mW of IR leakage... :p

"jk"... Im sure! LOL :p Seriously though, other than rattler, I've never tasted anything that tastes even remotely like gator. Some people say it tastes like chicken, but that's like saying fried chicken tastes like fried fish; it just doesn't really work. Round these parts, it's called the...

Yeah I'm good lol. This guy could get to about 14' with enough time to grow. My fingers are good, this little fella couldn't hurt me. Northeast Florida, close to Georgia. There actually are a couple of places down here that farm these guys, but most of the harvest is wild caught. Our...

It's a juvenile alligator, about 4 feet. While sometimes I have to go get them, he wasn't why I was there, he was just the first one in 2016 that I saw out of brumation. He was also a handsome little guy, he had rich colors and nice contrast.

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

So the long and short of it is that I got a substandard laser from DL, but the customer service after receiving it has been absolutely top notch. They're replacing the laser and even covering the shipping. I can't compain. The occasional dud laser is to be expected (though admittedly many...
