Reke 450 RGB??? Anyone tried it?

I wouldn't doubt it if it was a 473nm laser. They are trying to get rid of crappy old-tech at REKE. If you look at the specs for the projector it has inferior performance specs compared to even the (bottom of barrel) reke 500mW (Stepper motors, no ILDA, etc...). Their newest model projectors...

    Rifle 650nm from Lazerer.com

OK. Hope the Radiant "beta" is near the $130 price. My Laserbee A is my favorite meter, and it was less than $140.

    Rifle 650nm from Lazerer.com

I wouldn't get that expensive meter at o-like unless you have a lot of money. I would recommend a laserbee (at least 2.5W) or a radiant Alpha if you can find it. Radiant Electronics - Home

question about 445 and looking at beam (distance)

From a few hundred or so meters, not safe to get hit in the eye with the beam: :undecided:

    Post your random pics!

OK, nice. I'm going to try this. +rep LOL :D Brilliant.! Hope that was just the piano and not the amp(s). :cryyy: In need of a little Valium, are we?

Not dangerous at that distance: V8Gex8S6Rjw&gl

    "Big Scary Laser" logo copyright?

Thanks. Its also the logo that dethlore is using for the back of the shirts and sweatshirts he sells in this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/laser-shirts-sale-65073.html

    "Big Scary Laser" logo copyright?

Does anyone know the source of this image: Like, who originally created it? I see they used it in the TED demo of the mosquito-zapper laser; How to shoot down mosquito using laser gadget. - YouTube I guess no permission was required to use this image (no copyright)?

Is this a good laser for diving?

Perhaps you could design a waterproof host with a magnetic hall effect switch. They sell them at mouser. :) This is true if you have built the laser yourself. More power is not always better than less (cat-toy or lecture pointer for instance), but a tunable-power waterproof laser would...

    Member Map

Well. At first anyone could add themselves, but after a few months a bunch of spam hit the map, so Jacob32123 made it private. Now only he, jeffreythe00 and I can add new LPF members. I guess if you really needed to, you could get permission from Jacob32123. *shrug Just post your zip code (or...

Is this a good laser for diving?

I do not agree with these statements. This person likely has no experience with waterproof lasers. :undecided: Sure 5mW is fairly low power (especially for ~$100), but this will be used underwater at depths where it is relatively dark. You should be able to see the beam and dot very well. A...

    Highest mw without burning?

Cool. Those dragon lasers glasses will protect you from 445nm light. I would go with a single-mode 445nm at around 50-80mW. If it isn't focused to a pin point, the collimated beam won't burn much besides thin black plastic. Link or Link

    Highest mw without burning?

Yes. Green is the way to go for visibility. A 20mW one won't burn much and you can see the beam very well. UV (bluray) is the opposite: very tough to see the beam and burns very well at lower powers. Before I suggest a >20mW green what type of "glasses designed for eye protection" do you have...

Is this a good laser for diving?

I have tested many of the cheap waterproof lasers from china. Rayfoss, focalprice, o-like. Most leak at about 3 to 5 meters. I would get the one you linked to. If the manufacturer claims it will work at that depth it's a great host to have. If 5mW isn't enough power (should be pretty dark down...

    Green lasor

If you are going to get a more powerful laser, don't forget to buy and use safety glasses. One quick slip up with a powerful green and you can do permanent eye damage to yourself. Lazerer.com is worth a shot when they are back up. Their lasers are almost always overspec and ship fast. You may...

    pointer from lazerer.com

A 300mW bluray (405nm) will burn slightly better than that one, but the blue beam of the 445nm is much brighter.

Lazerer Stick 50mW and Tiny 100mW Review

Wanted to know if the mini's got warm,... I have one (141 peak) a year old, that gets warm after 30 sec.

Rayfoss laser - no instruction manual!

Don't know if that laser has reverse polarity protection. You can assume it does because Rayfoss is good with warranties (also, most newer lasers do). Hmm. 2 buttons on the side? You'll have to tell us what they do. With that charger, I would say a few hours. It depends on how...

Safety precautions for a relatively weak 445?

Rule of thumb- if a laser's dot is uncomfortably bright to look at, it has the potential for causing permanent damage. I find looking at the dot of a >200mW 445nm on a white wall from 20 feet away a bit uncomfortable, and limit my exposure to a second or less without safety glasses. I don't even...

Rayfoss laser - no instruction manual!

Well. This is a fairly new laser to the Chna sites, so not many of us have had a chance to check one out. I can try to answer your questions, as that laser has many of the same safety features as FDA approved handheld lasers. 1. Almost all green lasers are case positive (neg towards spring) 2...
