I haven't had much luck with the DDL driver, I succeeded in a couple but for some odd reason couldn't get it EXACTLY the way I want.   So, it depends on your host.  Do you want small, with minimal battery space?  Use flex drive, it has a booster circuit that can take 3.7V up to around 9V IIRC...

I like the Traxxas.  I have a Nitro Rustler with a 3.3 which is way more then it can handle!  I had to put 4 AA batteries up front for weight, and it still flips over backwards when you tap the gas!  As far as electric goes, you won't be dissapointed, except for the fact that the lipo batteries...
