4W Blue Diode Coming! Single Mode Too !!

When I read this thread I looked at the date to make sure it wasn't April, 1st WOW

Good idea to buy 40 watt Laserscope?

I've been tempted for years to buy a laserscope. I see they pop up on ebay for $1500-$2000 from time to time, fully operational. I'd be one happy man if I had a 40 watt greenie:) Is it worth buying or a bad idea? Does anyone have one? PS: I only want 40 watts because I semi-played(got to touch...

Any update on green laser diodes?

Does anyone know of the current progress on green laser diodes? My christmas wish is that they bring one with similar operating specs to the 445's. Imagine 2+ watt greens to play with :) My future laser build (2012....) HOPEFULLY two x 2W 54xnm two x 2W 445nm =8W Cyan OMG

    Minimum Volts For Burning?

Even focused 30mW won't burn anything except maybe ultra thin black paper. You'd need at least 100mW to start melting thin plastic. You'll really have to clarify "burn". 100mW will burn your skin if hold if you hold your hand long enough but it wont set wood on fire. Bluefan was spot on. Their...

remove AR coating on anamorphic prism?

Thanks for the info. Damn, I thought there would be a quick and easy solution. ie: dip it in alcohol Sounds like they use hydrofluoric acids....that a dangerous acid to play with. I may try leave the prism in sulphuric acid for a few days and see what happens. Sulphuric doesn't react with...

remove AR coating on anamorphic prism?

Ok, here is a strange request. I realized (with great joy) that I have 3 sets of amamorphic prisms. I removed them years ago from a very high tech worm drive (they were about $5000 new each!) They were broken of coarse. My problem is that they have an AR coating for 650-660nm. I know this...

A really tough 445nm! Burned and fixed!

wow!! I've got two dead 445's after incorrectly modulation. Maybe I should send them to you for repair:)

    Biggest scam I've ever seen!

Gee, @ 25% efficiency you'd need 24W of 808nm. Typically a bar type. Don't think that'll fit nicely into a hand held pointer. Gosh this guy must be selling something he knows nothing about.

    1500nm how to detect?

I'm playing with a range finder with a 1500nm laser diode. ANy material that will "glow" with this wavelengh? I'm trying to align the optics but this wavelengh is way IR and invisible. Detector cards, goggles, special paper that will help? thx...

Max output for a 635 nm laser, while affordable?

Thorlabs.com - HL63133DG 637 nm, 170 mW, Ø5.6, G Pin Code, Opnext Laser Diode $380 for 170mW. Ok. If you think thats a good price I won't argue. I may be power hungry and enjoy lasers with higher power output ie: mw to $ ratio, but I know some guys enjoy centain wavelengths like to 473 blue...

Max output for a 635 nm laser, while affordable?

Very easy. Look at a multi mode 635 at 15 meters. You have these stripes with gaps between them. And everything is square. Besides the laser speckle we all know, the beam could pass for a high power "collimated" LED. I'm not knocking high power 635. I'm sure good quality ones are available. But...

Max output for a 635 nm laser, while affordable?

Um... actually I can make a comment like this because I own a high power 635nm. If you read my post again I was saying how horrible the beam is of these multimode lasers. 2x660nm coupled may not be as bright but at least it looks more like a laser at a fraction of the price! Yes 635 is brighter...

    3W 445 + 1W 532=white WHY?

It's a + But you don't really notice it if it's combined into the other lasers. Herewith short video: YouTube - 3 watt white light laser. Home built

Who @ LPF has most powerful visible laser?

Just wondering who has the most powerful visible laser? Anyone with 10-40 watt green? Some guys love burning power, I love beam shots.

    White light laser pics

I wanted it compact but it was rather tricky getting everything to fit. Hence it took several months to build. And the fact I blew several 445 and had to re-align everytime.. Herewith some details: Main plate: 700mm x 300mm x 10mm (I first used 5mm but the flex in the board kept throwing out...
