    22mm Convoy 6v/8.25A driver mod

I have a test load setup, that’s not the issue. I’m just going to throw a R010 on and see where it lands me. The R010 is used on the other 22mm 6V/5A convoy drivers, so I’ll use an Osram 450LB_E to test it with the R010

    Guide: Where to buy 18650 & 26650 Li-Ion batteries

I’ve ordered from them before but I found a better deal and returned my unopened box.. I’m looking for 26350s so I can run 4 of them in series in the Convoy L6/L7 hosts for my NUBB23 project.. I found some Vapcell 26350s but they’re only 6A CDR.. I may have to just rethink my power supply approach

Also, for the 21700 size, the Molicel P45B puts the Samsung 40T to shame with the NUBMOF, NUBM47-A1 and Osram PLPT9-450LB_E diodes.. I get much better opticaloutput with the Molicel

I am looking for some 26350s, any suggestions ? Ideally I would like to run the LiFePo 3.2V batteries for my new NUBB23 handheld project..

But for the strongest 18350s, I suggest the Vapcell M11 v2.0.. I’ve done comparisons of the other 18350s I have and for the NUBM47 and Osram 8w diodes, they allow for another 1-1.5W of output

    Guide: Where to buy 18650 & 26650 Li-Ion batteries

I get all my batteries from IMR, great pricing and fast shipping. I run Xtar battery chargers, they work great and are priced properly. IMR has some new Molicel P30 18650s that are supposed to be some of the strongest 18650s available.. I’ve purchased AMTs, 4-16340s & 8-18350s, 10-Samsung 40T...

    22mm Convoy 6v/8.25A driver mod

So do you think the R010 resistor would get me 6A?

    22mm Convoy 6v/8.25A driver mod

Also, the other 22mm Convoy 6V/5A driver uses a R010 resistor, I’m thinking of using a resistor that’s between these? Something in the range of R008-R007?

    22mm Convoy 6v/8.25A driver mod

perfect! Cuz I actually already removed it and I’m just trying to figure out the proper SMD resistor to solder in its place? I tested the driver using a Samsung 40T battery and it puts out 6.2V at 7.93A. Would an R200 resistor work to get me to 6.2A?

    22mm Convoy 6v/8.25A driver mod

I have a 22mm 6V/8.25A convoy driver that that I would like to reduce the current from 8.25 to 6-6.5A. I’m trying to make a driver that will push the NUBMOF and Osram PLPT9-450LB_E 8W diodes to their respective limits. This driver works the same as the other 22mm 6V/5A Convoy drivers, as it has...

NUGM06 could be good for over 2W each ???

I recently built a Convoy M21A w/ a green laser diode: NICHIA NUGMO6 with a flat lens mod from eBay, the seller was “opticsld”. I purchased 2 of them and both of them were able to hit over 2.2W with G2 lens, using a 22mm JLB5A adjustable boost driver from JLasers. At the time, I just increased...

First post, second build. (Osram PLPT9 450LB_E)

Another detail to take into consideration is the testing parameters that Osram and Nichia use when testing and producing their data sheets. They stress test these diodes at 70*C!!! Yes it’s controlled via ACC, so I’m sure the diode doesn’t see even 3Amps most of the time at that temperature...

First post, second build. (Osram PLPT9 450LB_E)

Yes this Osram PLPT9-450LB_E is a BEAST! I’ve purchased and installed over 15 of these bad boys and they easily hit 8W with a G2 lens at around 5.3Amps. Plus they have a slightly higher operating temperature range, 0-80*C VS Nichias 455nm diodes at 0-70*C. With a 22mm Convoy 6V/5A boost...

    New Laser Build!!

I agree 100%, but he’s using the NUBM47 diode. The NUBMOF is a monster for sure! I got 9.4W with a G2. But the nubm47 doesn’t really like much higher than 5A without active cooling and a monster heatsink

    NUBM0F build

Yes it’s a powerful little sucker but I’m still in love with the Osram PLPT9-450LB_E diodes.. they come brand new and have a higher operating temp range. I’d rather take a brand new diode over a “used for who knows how long Nichia diode” that’s been heated to the moon and back for removal...

    NUBM0F build

Damn that’s sick! Good info on the PCBway custom heatsink purchase! I need a custom heatsink myself as my lathe is down.. the only suggestion I would make is try out a Lazeerer SXD driver, it performs much better and heats up much less. You’ll be able to push that NUBMOF to 8W easily.. you can...

    New Laser Build!!

8.3W according to who? lol what type of LPM are you using and is this a sustained power test ? Or just a quick “peak” test? I’ve been thru a TON of NUBM47-A1 diodes and maybe if you remove the power loss of the lens, then you can say 8.3W.. but what’s reality ?

Hey, so what color laser are you looking to get?
