harbor freight memorila day 25% coupon

Just to be clear, Central Machinery is not in the fine print. The lathe would have been fair game with the coupon. I've never had a problem redeeming any of the 20-25% coupons for anything. I've purchased welders, floor jacks, compressors, a tool chest, a trailer, and a ton more stuff... all...

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

I have to ask. How big is the module and what will it take to put this into a handheld host? What driver is necessary to run the pump diode? Does it require a 2 cell or 3 cell host?

Built two new blue lasers today

I'm glad the picture was helpful. These hosts are well made. The seams are completely invisible. Buying new or unknown flashlights to use as hosts can be a gamble. Often you don't really know how, or even if they come apart until you get them in your hands. I've got a pile of flashlight that...

Built two new blue lasers today

LewDude, Finding the batteries was challenging. I really wanted some quality AWs, but they seem to be nonexistent anymore. I ended up finding a seller on dhgate.com that was offering a 4 pack. My machining skills are sub-par at best. You would do better finding someone who actually knows...

Built two new blue lasers today

25mW of 490ish awesomeness. This is officially my new EDC laser. A Sharp GH04850B2G on a Micro FelxDrive 5 @ 75mw running on a 10280 battery in a stainless AAA host . I love this little host. It is only 3.55 inches long and 0.487 wide. It has great feel to it; very hefty for it's size...

Wanted To Buy: ThorLabs WR1 Can Opener

RedCowboy, I appreciate the tutorial, but the diode did not survive my attempt at getting it out of the module. The 25mm module requires 4 3/4 turns in order to unscrew the front and back halves. This was enough to twist one of the pins off. Since the diode was already toast at that point I...

Wanted To Buy: ThorLabs WR1 Can Opener

Did you spend your hard earned cash to buy the WR1 Can Opener only to use it once or twice? Is it now just sitting around gathering dust? Want to get some of that money back? Sell it to me! Please shoot me a PM if you have a WR1 and would rather have some cash instead.

    NUBM44 build

I took a look and my diode is filthy. I see at least 3 pieces of crap on the lens, not counting the area of the burnt out hole. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I'm going to try and press out the module. Assuming I'm successful, I will decan and try again.

    NUBM44 build

Alaskan, thank you for the insight. Now I have to see if I can even get the 25mm module out of the heatsink. It was a really tight press-fit and there isn't much room in the back to try and push through. Are there other decanning tools besides the one available at ThorLabs? With shipping it...

    NUBM44 build

The candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very brightly, NUBM44. My Diode is dead.... or more accurately, the window is cooked. I was running it today and after about 10 or 15 seconds the output went "out of focus." Adjusting the lens did nothing to...

    NUBM44 build

Paul, I don't know how anyone building from flashlight hosts can get by without a lathe. I bought this one to replace my little old cummins tools lathe I had for years. This new lathe is awesome. Strong, smooth, quiet, and much bigger. I'm very happy with it. Lifetime17, I really like this...

    NUBM44 build

I just ordered a new G lens. Hopefully it will allow me to eke out a few more mW.

    NUBM44 build

Thanks guys. I turned the heatsink and focus adapter on my new HiTorque 7x16 mini lathe form LMS. This is the dividing head that I used. The thing is a beast and much larger (and heavier) than I expected it to be. The lens is a three element. I was expecting higher numbers for the...

    NUBM44 build

I just finished my latest build. It is a 450nm NUBM44 in a 25mm Copper Module with a Super X-Drive set at 4.5A from DTR. The host I purchased off ebay. It's a 3 cell 18650 (convertible to 2 cell) flashlight that has tons of space for a large heatsink. https://imgur.com/9ufEQhy...

How visible do you see 405nm ?

I have trouble seeing the beam unless it is dark and the room is smokey. The dot, unless looking through protective eyewear, always looks like a large shimmering purple starburst.

    Just had to!

This light is so damn ridiculous that I just might need one. Thanks Bob.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please I completely understand. Part of allure is the rarity. But to be able to add that wavelength to my collection would make me very happy.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please I'm curious as well. I need one to replace the dead diode I bought from BillyBob. :(
