    TRUE <5mw lasers?

If you had a calibrated LPM you could test the "low powered" lasers for safety. You could also then add Attenuating Filters to bring the power down to a safe level if reducing the drive current is not easily done. OR Go with Encap.... ^^^^^ Jerry

Laser Power Meter Question - (Hyperion Argentum)

Other than the additional IR heat from the Laser host if the Laser is too close to the Thermopile Sensor.... as long as all of the Laser's beam falls onto the sensor the distance to the sensor should not matter. Of course if there are particles in the air (smoke/dust) the distance can/could...

Question about diy laser galvo scanner

The best way to start is with information.... a lot of it.... Google is your friend...... To get you started since you have no experience with Lasers.... a 5mW RED Laser is enough to see indoors and searching the forum will find you a suitable driver if you can't find a ~650nm RED Laser. Jerry

    WTB Starter lpm

Your "precision" criteria is not well defined... There is a difference between accuracy and resolution. Resolution is the smallest increment an LPM will show on a given range 1mW, 0,1mW, etc. Accuracy is how close to NIST an LPM is on a given range an is normally quoted in +/- percent (%)...
