I've metered ebay pens on my LPM from 1mw to 170mw. You really can't tell what the output is without a LPM. Any other method is just not accurate. Ed

Protected 10440s are longer than an AAA. I have some ultrafires that are 47.26mm, so you mite be better off getting the batteries and making spacers. Be carefull, I've had ebay pens die in seconds and others run forever on 10440s. If you can get QQtec pens they, (at lest the ones I have) run...

No 14500 is the same as an AA, you need 10440 batteries. I got mine from Amazon. Check the seller listed above as being in AU.

Wow. 600m. the only thing that can be seen at that range in day light is targeting lasers used by the military. They are IR and in the tens of watt level. Safety can't be assured at that level of power. It's good that you are concerned about safety, but it just can't be done.

Wow. I won't condemn you for your unwise use of the laser, but would you please leave the cursing out of your posts. That laser is close to UV and at that power level if I were you I would keep an eye on that spot for cancer. As for the end result, the carbon left by the laser is permanent so...
