ALERT: Bad Selling Experience with "Electron"

hmm. All I can add to this, (and I have been following it) is - that I've done business with both bootleg2go and rhd, and everything went *more* than fine... (bootleg2go absolutely went out of his way to make my RPL order right, and RHD has shipped me two builds in the last few weeks; those went...

    Try the simplest solution first...

Actually, it *still* doesn't rattle, when the endcap is on and the bore is put back in. The mirror mount jutted out into a little 'pocket' of RTV, which kept it from moving. PMs: Yeah guys I got them, sorry, wasn't on LPF for the last few hours :P

Why are laser dot shapes diffrent?

OutlawKing -- (since it seems it wasn't answered) -- just FYI, yes, there are single mode (dot shaped) 445nm lasers, but they're significantly lower power. We're seeing them at 50-80mW now vs, well, 700-1000mW.

Using Laser for Commercial Purposes, Need your Advice

First of all, 635nm is red, not green. So I'm not sure why they told you that... But green (532nm) is the most visible. Meaning, it'll be the most visible at the least power and is therefore theoretically "safer". So for something like this, you do want to go with green. (532nm.) 1) 3B 40mW is...

    Bizarre 405 issue.

Cold (brittle) solder joint on the driver wiring, cold solder joint on the diode, or oxidization on the battery terminals or screw threading of the host. If the electro don't flow, you just ain't gonna go. Probably pretty easily fixable. I'd reflow all solder joints, and hit the threads of...

Hit in eye with 1000mw 445nm blue laser

No real solace, but -- let us know what happens... From what you say, it seems like it was kind of an oblique hit which means maybe it's going to be more of a peripheral issue, the edge of the fovea not the center of it. Either way I hope you are reading this because any swelling that follows...

Hit in eye with 1000mw 445nm blue laser

Hopefully, tonight, a few more people suddenly are a little bit less lax about eye protection. Was it a -direct- hit, for a full second, really?

    Try the simplest solution first...

So I spent 2 hours tonight messing with ballast resistance. Trying to get a HeNe to light. I could have saved a lot of time and frustration, and gone on to something more productive if I had just pulled on the HR a little harder: yup. This HeNe had become an AirAir. Oh well, no big loss. It...

    HUGE CNI Frustrations...

Agreed, kudos to LPF here and the resources we have... Without it, we'd have little sway in these situations. UPDATE: Ava just provided me with a spectrum plot. Things look good, I will continue to update as this progresses.

    Mitsubishi 500mW 635nm Diode

I'll be watching this closely too, and may follow suit if the outcome is good.. Hate working with open can, but that's mostly in my head, since I know the can doesn't protect all that much. (Well, it may, from back reflections...)

    Weird 50mW

    I don't think that's racism, I think that's physics.

CNI GB #12 (Fast as we can do it!)

Aaand, looks like my GLP-589 repair was not with GB#12... Sent that off to Glenn 6 months ago... half a year... and now it's lost in the ether... Really worried about this one... Glenn, anything on this one? :| Half a year (since July 25) is... a hell of a long turnaround time :| and it looks...

Review - Lasersman FireDragon III 300mW

Well, for 300mW, it's certainly... that and more. For $200, pretty good; I wonder how consistent that'd be . Good review. thanks.

    HUGE CNI Frustrations...

I'll update everyone when I decide what to do and CNI has come through or not, and to what degree.. But I don't want the thread to be 'bumped' all that much right now as right now they -are- working with me, so if there are any questions I'd say PM... They also shipped GB#12 after this incident...

Can this be true? O_o why so cheap??

There are also apparently LPC-836s available, that "supposedly" handle more power. I don't know if this has been tested though, or if it's a true claim.

is this a good laser to get, in your opinion?

LittleJ, while that will burn, it's barely visible. It'll show up as a dim red glow, and appear much dimmer than it really is. (Out of our vision limits). Because of that, it's a lot more dangerous.. Because your irises dont adjust to anything but 'apparent' brightness, even with an incident...

    Good day gents

Through experience, Lajos. I'm was just on the edge of ordering a Krypton, like, really just on the edge - until after talking to the CEO, asking for reassurances after having a horrible time with the Arctics, that this would be better. All he could offer was a bunch of marketing speak. I...

    greetings!

Sort of, yeah... We do kind of have a 'code' it seems. Possibly because we don't want our hobby illegalized :P But, welcome really.

    HUGE CNI Frustrations...

Wow. CNI sure is on the move today....

    HUGE CNI Frustrations...

Yeah, I just want to make it clear that CNI IS working with me on this now though... So the forum is doing its job. They are very worried about this thread, and I think it's fair to let everyone know that they *are* working with me now. Laser companies in general hopefully know: - We do buy...
