    My new 445 - Aurora C6 Host!

Rajer, did you LPM this? Moh -- What kind of output are you getting with the M140s and 1.8a in your kits and say a G1?

Actually I believe RHD's Red Mosquito was designed for driving the Opnext and Mitsubishi reds -maybe he could chime in here, it may be overkill - but I know it's *small*, and he said size is a concern. Trigger, search for that (Red Mosquito) as well as Mohgasm (Mohrenberg's driver) and...

If you've been looking for a GreeNe, read this.

Cheech, Why not just strip the braid down so that you can solder that to one end, and extend the (insulated) inner conductor around to the anode? It should work that way, too. And, good that the tube lights! Those big GreeNes, I think that selloff we saw is pretty much it... They *are* the...

Hmm, I think RHD's Red Mosquito would work for this. Do you have any more details on the red diode? What burner was it out of?

    Help laser doesn't work!

As Magmabeam said, That "red light" is the IR pump diode and could be 500mW-1W of invisible IR. Do not look into it. I realize you already did, but I have to reiterate what Magmabeam said just to make sure you understand what you just did -- you stared into an operating high-powered infrared laser.

    homemade green laser

Alignment (polarity) has to be exact. You can try, you might get some green - IF its *truly* an 808nm diode. Often they're "off" by 2-3nm, and won't get the DPSS action to occur. You can certainly try. It might work. Try and get an IR diode that claims, at least, that it's exactly 808nm. --...

Direct Green Laser Diode Technology Progress

+1, by the way, to madmacmo for aggregating this data and maintaining this thread so far. Thanks a lot! There's still more development to come!

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

I *did* measure twice on the divergence. It blew me away, but it's so low that I want to measure *again*, and will do that when I can find more than 40ft of space to reliably calculate from. But, yeah, really, even at 40ft, it was "like that". I had a "this can't be right" moment and did...

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

Re: placeholder And so begins my portion of the review, of the 510nm (50mW) Direct Green Diode and the World's 2nd Direct Green Handheld, built by the one and only RHD. Overview: So, in a way, this is kind of the moment we've all been waiting for. At this point, we finally really do have...

    FS: Aurora C6 Kits!

Ok, can those just be ordered? I PMed first because I don't know if any of them have been claimed.

    performance anxiety lol

CrazyK: It's VERY typical. DPSS lasers are very sensitive to temperature. I have 4-5 chinese 532 DPSS lasers that do the exact same thing. They still work fine. It does NOT mean it's dying. In fact, one of my most over-specced NewWish 532 pens actually takes the LONGEST to emit any 532. But...

    Laser getting dimer?

Well, after a while, rechargeable batteries can end up just holding a 'surface charge', meaning a charged area gathers near the anode and cathode but the rest of the cell is pretty much dead. The charger will still see it as charged, but it won't be. When that happens, the phenomenon is, you...

    Laser getting dimer?

That doesn't neccessarily mean it's not the battery. However, are you saying it's instantly dimmer each time you turn it on? Or it starts bright and dims quickly?

    Glow Crazy

It looks like it is, but it could also be a focused UV LED, which at the right powers could be just as bad. I've considered ordering one just to see what's going on with it.

Finally Arrived! High-Power CNI 589nm Handheld! [PIC HEAVY]

I've got one of these that peaks at 85mW and another that peaks at 109mW rather reliably. I actually did end up burning something with it by mistake; oddly enough, a Canon DSLR lenscap...

    Dying laser?

Honestly, it could be either. If for some reason the current has been reduced to the point of it barely lasing, you'd get an LED effect, too. However with as cheap as PHRs are now, I'd try that first. Replace that, (or you could likely have someone here on the forum do it for you if you don't...

Using Laser for Commercial Purposes, Need your Advice

Hit in eye with 1000mw 445nm blue laser

I think we're all interested in the final outcome, so please do report back here... And definitely good that you did go and take care of this.. most people wouldn't. If you hadn't acted sooner, this surgery may have been too late to mitigate anything... So hopefully things could work out... I...

I know, right! I mean, they were *612nm* diodes! Sheesh! :D
