    Nice find! I just don't understand why they call it broadband. The frequency comb used has discrete frequencies, so a "zoom" into the spectrum should reveal the "cloaked" object. I assume they would need a true broadband source for a perfect cloak. Singlemode

    Easy for you means always, that somebody else did the work in the first place. As it seems there is no demand for a 10 diode package to go into "mass production". Do it yourself or pay somebody to do it for you. I am sure for some 100$s you will find somebody to wire the diodes together for you...

    You won't get anywhere close to 1mW without a resonant doubling bow-tie cavity. You will also need a special fibre (hollow core f.e) for the UV. Singlemode

    This is awesome Paul. Such a great wavelength and I am am afraid we won't see it as a direct diode for some time. Can't wait to see your beam shots! Regarding beam improvement: you can try a pinhole to do spatial filtering or even better, an optical single mode fibre. Singlemode

    You lose 50% of the pump laser light and 50% of your signal. In addition you will have more straylight. I don't see any real advantages besides this. Singlemode

    Only the film itself was black/white. The light hitting the film was in color and all chromatic errors were the same... Singlemode
