If you mean DPSS (Diode pumped Solid State) laser then no, they're pumped by 808nm IR diodes.

Welcome to have an opinion but I don't think they've been back seated or replaced at all. 488nm and 445nm are very different colours, not only that but the gas system is a particularly interesting way of producing laser light, certainly something that's not going to die out soon in the hobbyist...

It's better than nothing while you wait for your goggles but kind of a futile attempt at blocking the light. Whilst specular reflections arn't good for your eyes I often view my 150mW greenie without goggles on as I enjoy looking at the beam, whilst the dot is VERY bright specular reflections...

well I imagine it's running on their 150mW modules so look up the price of that plus a little extra for refitting it and see if it's less than buying a new one. It may be that the module is all glued into the host and comes dropped off to o-like like that so they may not be able to do much with it.

Financially? Or technically, because technically it's really simple although a bit daunting when you unpack all the kit. All it really packs is some oversized cables and a few plugs :) plug em' all in pop your multimeter into the controller and set it to seven amps, and out comes some crystal...

Thanks for all the info, I forgot to mention most of it. There is indeed a 110V/220V switch, and the fan is amazingly powerful and requires no duct tubing. I wish I knew the answer! :D hopefully a buyer will come along soon. It comes in at 18KG, the airport idea is definitely a viable route...
