    Attention Laser Designers!

Lol, who do you think we have on the forum? The machinist on the forum are the people who machine/design the FDA compliant hosts, unless you design one your self and send it off to a machinist the average joe metal worker wouldn't have a clue what an FDA compliant laser host is. Real laser tech...

PC PSU into a Lab PSU

Cheers, glad it's helpful. I literally spent like the last hour and a half trying to back track my steps to find the page, found it in the end after googling something like 10k potentiometer after I gave up looking for it :)

PC PSU into a Lab PSU

I setup one of these recently, the first one I tried building into the actual PSU enclosure, unfortunately one of the circuits I built shorted with a heatsink inside the PSU (scared the crap outta me.) So I decided to build it into a separate enclosure. For mine I took a 24 pin cable extender...

Would anyone like to see a strange 532nm labby? - for $40 ;)

Could you not replace the diodes without dismantling the whole thing? I think the point qumefox and Trevor were making is that you don't dismantle say a 532nm he-ne because it's inefficient :)

    First 660nm in progress

Can't believe they're still selling them, looks like cling film would block more light than they are. I own a pair of dragon lasers goggles for protection against bluray upto green and they work perfectly, so it may be worth checking out they're green pair for blocking red lasers. Laser Safety...

    FS: <150mW Ehgemus & 100mW MXDL Blu-ray

Manage to find a picture of the host just after I bought it, so you can get a good idea of what it'll look like after it's re polished if you decide to go that route with the kind offers above ^^ cheers

    FS: <150mW Ehgemus & 100mW MXDL Blu-ray

Not dumb at all :) I'm in south England, and they take CR123A rechargeable batteries. The 4.2V ones, normally labelled as 3.7V. The green uses 1 of the above, and the PHR MXDL uses 2. 4X 3.7V CR123A CR123 17335 Rechargeable Battery+Charger | eBay UK when fully charged the batteries put out...

Put together a video of the green burning some stuff, recently cleaned the lens on it as well so the dot is perfectly clean, looks better than new :) unfortunately photobucket doesnt seem to support 720p, the quality is still decent though. cheers :)

my 1st effort at building a driver - help

Using an LED to emulate the current across a Laser diode just doesn't work, the current your reading across the LED will be completly different to what you would be measuring across a laser diode. To measure the current output of your driver accuratly you need to use a test load, normally...

Harvesting the ShowWX? Contains: 635 + 445 (single mode?) + 532 (directly doubled)

Cool thread, these projectors look like little treasure chests :) So if that blue adjusts with temperature, normally with the 635 diodes or alike it's cooling them to get them to a more visible wavelength, with these blues they'll get brighter/cooler with heat as the wavelength shifts :)

    First 445nm Build

Hi, I drew a little diagram of how I understand the continuous negative system to work in the flex drive. I followed your wiring in regards to having 2 flex drives, as I havn't done a dual driver build before, but that's how I would wire a single flex drive so I combined the two. I'm fairly...
