    Is the buy/sell/trade section operating?

You might be disappointed. It's an ad for a laser that doesn't work. I just wanted to dump it and be done. But I'll give it til tomorrow and then contact a mod and see if they can help.

    Is the buy/sell/trade section operating?

I posted an ad back on Friday and now 2 more days have gone by and it has been neither accepted or rejected. The rules say that it has to be approved before it becomes visible. I assumed I'd be notified if it didn't get approved. Does anyone know if that section is still operating normally...

    An Apology for Everyone

Your story sounds exactly like mine. As for what to do now, there are a couple members here who are offering to repair lasers bought from SciFi for only the cost of shipping both ways and the parts. Although I don't know if these guys have actually done anything yet, so I can't tell you how...

    Just ordered a 1W 501B from sci-fi!

I'm the last person that should be talking about the technical aspects of lasers, but from Elly has said so far, I kind of doubt it was something that got knocked loose during shipping. Otherwise, it would not have worked from the beginning, or it would at least work sporadically now. First...

    Just ordered a 1W 501B from sci-fi!

The way things are going, lets hope you'll have a working laser before the world ends! :yh:

    Just ordered a 1W 501B from sci-fi!

My goodness! That's strike two for you when it comes to lasers! First, the SciFi experience and now this! At least you have options. Contact Podo about it. I have no idea how he does things but I'm sure you'll get this resolved without too much trouble. Either a fix or replacement.

**(SOLD!)**SF501b 445nm blue laser "as is", plus extras $40

Selling my SF501b 455nm blue laser, which was originally a 1.5—1.8W. It no longer outputs the way it used to, which means the diode may be fried, or something else is wrong that needs fixing. It only puts out a very weak beam that can only be seen in a very dark room. I’ve already charged up...

    An Apology for Everyone

Maybe the admin or whoever got paid by SciFi Lasers to put the banner up could simply pay SciFi back money for whatever amount of time is left on the contract. If SciFi is no longer in business, then the banner doesn't help SciFi. Paying back SciFi for the remainder of the contract on a...

SciFi repair help - ex SciFi customers only!

That's what he was supposed to do for me too. He stated it in a post responding to someone else in a thread, but when I contacted him about it by email, I never heard back from him. I think his situation and ability to do that has changed now.

Have you ever killed a Laser?

Does power level factor in when it comes to failure? That is, does a 6W laser have a bigger chance at failing prematurely than a 100mw?

SciFi repair help - ex SciFi customers only!

Oh, I understand. I was just thinking that a $100 laser might not be even worth an additional $26, plus whatever the shipping is each way (I'm assuming about $10 each direction, but that's just a guess). I thought maybe they'd entertain the idea of simply buying the defective lasers to fix and...

    Need repairs

You should say, "I promise to do it in a few hours buddy!" That always gives people confidence!

SciFi repair help - ex SciFi customers only!

This sounds like a generous offer, but it might only be good for those who bought higher priced lasers. Having bought a laser myself that no longer works, I'd have to pay for replacement parts (probably in my case, that would be a $26 diode, at least), plus shipping both ways with the risk that...

    One thing I don't get

Beyond this, there's something that I don't get either! Why can't a regular LED be used as a laser diode? LED's for flashlights put out a single color, so how are they different from a laser diode?

    SciFi Lasers SF501b blue 445nm 1.5--1.8W

Well folks, my 10 days of waiting for Paypal to refund my money has come and gone. It is now day 11 and I continue to wait for "the seller to respond by April 26th." I guess they're in the business of making people wait too. EDIT: I just called them on the phone and they noticed that they...

    An Apology for Everyone

Same problem here, except mine is an SF501b that stopped working after 10 days. Did yours stop working within the 6 month warranty period? You may just have to file a paypal claim to get this resolved. I tried communicating with thejoker to get mine either replaced, repaired or refunded, but...

Maybe someone would be willing to buy it as it is for the host and the good parts it has.

    SciFi Lasers SF501b blue 445nm 1.5--1.8W

Oh my! I'm sorry to hear that! 6 months of waiting, and now no recourse? That really does suck! Sorry again, man. :cryyy:

    An Apology for Everyone

That site wouldn't happen to have been Survivalist Forum Survival Gear SHTF and TEOTWAWKI Articles, would it? I got banned from there for the same reason. Another one was stoppingpower.net. That one was even worse! It sounds like people are being refunded the day after the 10th day when...

If you haven't filed a paypal claim yet, now is the time. It's the only way to get refunded right now.
