Looking for opinions about my laser brightness

I don't have a way of measuring the actual power output. I'm just going by the manufacterer's claim.

What you see in the video is the same as what I saw in real life.

Looking for opinions about my laser brightness

I had a 1.5 watt blue laser about 6 years ago and it was my first high-powered laser. It only lasted for 9 days, so videos I made are all I have left of it. I heard that green lasers are much brighter due to our eyes being more sensitive to that color. I just bought one of those and got it...

Ok to charge a 14500 in a AA charger?

I guess I can see how charging at a voltage too low to actually "trigger" the charging process could damage the battery. Sometimes I've even heard that using too low of a voltage from a battery to operate the device it's powering can also damage something (either the battery or the device...

Ok to charge a 14500 in a AA charger?

But isn't the electricity being used to charge either battery type the same? Just being a lower voltage being the only difference?

    Battery amps and brand

Thank you. I've been here on and off for 8 years.

Ok to charge a 14500 in a AA charger?

No, it hasn't been hacked. I just was curious as to whether or not I'd be able to use my AA chargers to charge a 14500 since they're the same size. Just different voltage. I'm not all that knowledgable about electronics.

    Battery amps and brand

I ended up getting a couple 14500 cells from Liionwholesale. They arrived on Monday.

Ok to charge a 14500 in a AA charger?

I know a 14500 battery is 3.7volts while a AA is 1.2volts, but would it still be safe to charge a 14500 battery in a charger designed for AA batteries? The size is the same. I figure it would just take maybe 3 times as long to complete the charge, but maybe there's more to it than that. I'm...

Is this battery safe for lasers?

That's something I never knew about the numerical battery designations. Interesting!

Is this battery safe for lasers?

For the laser I'm getting I only need one battery. Just wasn't sure why the 3A version and the 10A version would be the same price. Seems that a higher-spec one would cost more.

Is this battery safe for lasers?

Thanks! That's good to know. I'll order my 14500 battery from them if it turns out I ended up needing it. I have a battery that doesn't specify it's AMP output, but I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work out, I'll get a 3A one from Liionwholesale. Funny thing I noticed is that they seem to...

Is this battery safe for lasers?

Whew! I didn't know lasers were getting to be that powerful. Thank you for assuring me about Vapcells. I'm looking to get a 700mw green laser that requires a 3A continuous output battery, and it looks like this one should be good for it. You told me in another thread that the Sofirn battery I...

Sanwu shipping rates? Is this for real???

After getting advice on which companies to deal with, I checked out Sanwu and was drawn to this one: https://www.sanwulasers.com/product/304 Green, 80mw, and only $20. Not bad! So I selected it and went to check out and saw this: https://www.sanwulasers.com/checkout/wrii351xexpxdixa3rdllpif...

    Battery amps and brand

I guess I'd need to get something else then. I never see them at local stores, so it would have to be online, plus shipping. :( I just checked https://liionwholesale.com/ The battery was $4.24, but the shipping was $4.69. Good grief!

    Battery amps and brand

Those graphs look very informative, but I'm unfortunately not familiar with all the technical terms. I don't see where it shows the Sofirn's continuous amp output. Is that there? If it's not at least 3, I'd be curious as to how close it comes to it.
  18. LEDbeam

    Battery amps and brand

How is the "continuous amps" known if it is not listed on the battery? Here's what I have: Sofirn 14500 (which came in a Sofirn flashlight). Voltage: 3.7 volts Mah: 900 Nothing about continuous amps. I'm considering a purchase of a laser that takes a 14500 battery and is said to require 3...

Are laser safety glasses ALWAYS needed?

Makes sense. I figure that the biggest lure a laser has is the visible beam. Those who like science fiction movies featuring laser weapons are usually the ones who gravitate toward a hobby like this.

Are laser safety glasses ALWAYS needed?

I hear what you're saying about them not being toys. I do wonder what they're meant to be though. Not really a practical tool accept as a pointer, but then only 5mw is needed to point to things (or play with your cat) using the dot. Maybe around 50mw for pointing out astronomical objects in...
