Ohh OK I see now, I did get them for around $15 some time ago and since I didn't know much about them I just out them aside. I have not personally seen any of these wavelengths before so I didn't want to kill my diodes trying to figure out what vf they needed or the current, there wasn't much...

I was trying to fool myself by asking this question, I knew full well yet I had hope😔 that maybe there was a way... Well... I guess it has come to this... time to get spare eye protection for everybody 🙃😎😎😎😎

I'm surprised I did not kill it. I tried powering it like a m140 diode and nothing. Then I remembered Paul's comments about some being case positive and gave it a try and figured it out from there. Oh and about the position of the switch, that was precisely why I chose that pen host. The button...

Here my first build after becoming an official LPF member. Isolated the module from a Chinese pen host and used a boost driver for this 505nm diode I had laying around for a while. My first case positive diode and my first 505 nm build.. Its not impressive by any means since it's nothing fancy...

    Sale thread/ Hosts/Heat Sinks/Focus adapters/lasers

Thanks Rich, we'll I don't want to go around burning retinas but a focusing feature would be nice. I'm looking for something in the size of the lumintop AAA tool. I have a copper one that I really like the size so I've been brainstorming ways of how to fit an aixiz module base and use a single...

    Tool AAA host. Maybe?

I actually took apart one of those cigarette lookalikes and found a lipo battery of decent capacity but once the tabs break off the contacts, there's no real way to use them since I could not sodder any wires to those little tabs I also do have a pair of 10180s that fits nicely inside the...

Hello Rich, I'm wondering if you have any pen style hosts that take 10440, 10280 or 10180? I want to make a couple of low power (10-35mw) pointers for every day use with very short duty cycles. 20 seconds at most for pointing at moderate distances.

    Tool AAA host. Maybe?

What about using a 10180 cell? Or 2 if you cut the tailcap spring shorter? For low power lasers with a back half or no back, just driver and diode housing fitted on the head of the flashlight... I have a nice copper tool with a hi cri that I do not want to kill for a laser lol but I was thinking...

So are his drivers for sale? Anyone know what happened with this guy?

    Help finding Long Distance Laser

I feel ashamed at my generation... I find it hard to believe that the majority of people my age don't even know what the Holocaust is/was.. It's as hard for me to think that they are that ignorant as it is for some to believe the earth is not a spheroid shape

What batteries should I get for this laser

I forgot to mention that I got it when it was on a deal via the app so prices might be a little different but you still can't go wrong with it in my opinion. I've haven't had any issues with it so far and I do run tests to check batteries ever 4 or 5 months Edit:Just checked the price and it's...

    Urgently need battery choice help

Yeah those are my favorites too which are the green 18650B cells. Most of the uses I give them don't see anything higher than that. If I need a little head room then the lg vtc6 has 3000mAh and can do 15amps. Anything with 20amps or more drops down to 2600-2200mAh capacity

What batteries should I get for this laser

I have not but I will do. The only reason why I don't buy another charger is because this one cost me $16 shipped from aliexpress and I have close to 60 18650 cells that I've collected, either bought or harvested so I don't have a need to fast charge, and the slow charge let's them live out a...

    Urgently need battery choice help

I like Panasonic 18650b for capacity, anything that needs to run for a long time without excessive current needs like below 5amp. Anything that needs to pack a punch then the LGs are my choice since most batteries used in power tools are high amp drain batteries, downside is there's less...

What batteries should I get for this laser

I mentioned this in a different thread but I've been harvesting 18650 cells from laptop & power tool batteries and I use a charger that can run charge and discharge tests and also give you internal resistance for 4 cells individually. It's the liitokala engineer Lii-500, you can also adjust the...

    Urgently need battery choice help

Anything with fire on the name *surefire is ok* is on my "do not buy" list. I harvest 18650s from laptop batteries or power tool batteries, test them after a full charge and discharge and use them on my flashlights or lasers. Efest are OK along with fenix, nitecore, olight and other flashlight...

    589nm 50mW Spartan Review

@Nexgen thank you for sharing! That is a really cool wavelength, is it yellow or does it have an orange tint to it? Could be just my screen

@Paul OK will look for that pot and report back with results. Wish me luck so that I don't kill the laser or driver lol Edit: Bad new Paul.. My driver does not have a pot. It's all smd resistors, diodes, an inductor, a couple of transistors, capacitors and 2 chips/microcontrollers? But no pot...

I will see about that when I get home, I honestly have not messed with it since it's the first laser in this wavelength and I don't want to risk killing it yet. But I am interested, I've had it running for 5 minutes without any noticeable changes in temperature at the heatsink/diode although...

Yeah the one I got included a fan and driver for both laser and fan with a tty connection on the driver, although the driver needs 12v power to run. That laser is on my profile picture but it gets washed out by the 445nm light from another laser. The color is like a sky blue with a hint of...
