I second the option to contact Rich, he makes awesome hosts. I got my very first lifetime host and it's beautiful! And they are affordable. Best bang for your buck

Ahhh this hobby is so bad for my wallet... I have a few convoy s2+ custom flashlights that I've always thought how the host would make a nice laser... Ive just bought a host and the sanwu pocket series from another thread... Self restraint is hard

Thanks Rich :) it was hard to see it go but it was a quick build as a gift for a friend who also appreciates lasers. I believe the diode was a sharp 505 nm that I bought on eBay. It never ran hot even after a few minutes of it being on. Love the mint color, I do miss it so much I might buy...

Very well said my friend! I also noticed a finer but more color sensed beam with the half thread 3 element lense on the 488nm and the 515nm diodes

I tried a few 3 element glass lenses and a few acrylics and found one 3 element glass where it's nor as noticeable as with the rest

Any beam pics? I'd love to see the beam and dot profile

Hahaha Thanks I thought it was just me that couldn't find any. I want to make it look good and small so it doesn't take much space. I have heatsinks that we're salvaged from power tool batteries that I can add and also fans if it comes to using that as well to keep it stable in a small package...

What are the specifics for components? I want to build an smd type that has the header pins with a jumper as a selectable voltage drop thingy.. Or if it's easier to use through hole components, are the diodes just regular rectifiers? 1ohm 1% tolerance 10w resistor is needed?
