    A Big Thanks To RyanElectro!

Hey thanks a lot bud, I'm glad you like your laser, treat it well it was my baby. Have fun & stay safe! @daguin As far as I know, he hasn't owned another laser before, but I might be wrong. Support I gave him was basically around some charger issues as well as other general & technical...

I ordered from HTD 9 month's ago, nothing came

If you're from Israel, your package probably got confiscated by a gov't agency and they didn't tell you anything about it. Especially if it contained lots of circuit boards and wires (bomb parts?). It's common in Israel for that to happen... martial law is in place, all the time.

New 12X Laser Sled GB (BDR-S06J) $45 in USA!

Nope. Drew didn't want to give the refund because "I already f**ked it up" as he says. Basically pointing that the ribbons have been clipped. It does say in the Paypal agreement: He would not have received his item back anyway. So it didn't matter if the ribbons were clipped or not. But...

    Just a thought...

I've had issues with Paypal as well, I like how they can hold funds for 90 days or freeze your account for 180 days just like that... with all your money in it. I'm telling ya, they're using it to invest.. those pigs! I've been looking for alternatives and the 2 best I found are Moneybookers...

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Ah, this offers a completely plausible scenario. Li-ion fully charged at 4.2V turns on from no load to full load, causing a voltage spike, subsequently, current output jumps, and at an enthusiastic current setting of 480mA, it can easily hit over 550-600mA+, resulting in a...

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Yup. Same symptom as me. LED'd right when powering on (though mine was the 5th or 6th time powering it on then it LED'd). What driver did you use?

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes DTR, I think you're definitely hitting something here. Right when I was reading your post about start-up spikes, it offered an awfully accurate explanation of what happened: Both of my diodes were driven by a Ben Boost and both of them died RIGHT when I turned it on...

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Too late :(. In the above post, I already soldered the diode. Guess what... yes it failed again after around 2 min runtime. It worked wonderfully while it lasted though, I don't get it. Connections everything was fine, I even resoldered everything to make sure and tested...

Items no longer offered for sale.

Re: FS: 2.1W+ 445nm Laser and Accessories (Goggles Included) Yeah he just got into an argument with Luke and both banned. I don't see it as something major. They'll be back soon.

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes I highly doubt I lost connection, the pins were soldered solid on the driver. After it died, I inspected the connections again and there were all solid. And yes I short the outputs b4 connecting the diode. UPDATE: I just soldered the new diode and it works just like the...

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Nope, no OVP.

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Shouldn't be heat, because it worked well after everything was done. When you're testing the Ben boosts, does your reading immediately go to 480mA (or whatever your current is suppose to be at)? Or does it hop a around a bit then settles at 480mA (this happens to me)...

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Yes the driver is preset to 498mA, but it tests to 480mA on my testload, set at 5 diodes. I've tested it for around 5-10s on the testload, reading is consistent at 480mA before first diode was connected and after diode was dead.

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Oh really? Hmm. Twas a Benboost from cilegray, my setup is already dissembled, unless.. should I solder my last 12x diode to the driver? This is currently my dilemma.... and I'm scared to risk it lool.

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Re: Pesky 12x diodes Thanks Joe, but I've read the info in that thread. I've gotten some fake 12x sleds before from Modwerx with the 3 pin soldered. But these diodes I got from DTR and I'm quite sure they're real. The fakes didn't even lase for me. Could it be an issue with directly...

    Pesky BenBoost Drivers

Hey guys, I've been building a couple of 12x S06J builds and realized that already 2 diodes died on me when set only at 480mA (measured with a testload on 5 diodes, though the Ben boost is supposedly set at 498mA). They didn't die immediately. They worked great for the first 5 minutes of total...

Best Way to Get Rid of 50W of Heat

Yeah water cooling would be some crazy stuff, really look like iron man then. Only thing is.. you need a radiator, and that's not going to fit on an arm lol.
