all check all your connections to make sure there is no extra solder touching anything it shouldnt be.

yep. my S03 popped at 300mA too. sucks hard but all in the name of MORE POWER!!!! hehe.

no. the BDR-S03 has been tested up to 350mA with a linear trend seen in mA vs. mW. Some have gone out as low as 140mA though. It's just a garbage diode I am starting to believe.

wow. These BDR-S03 sleds are garbage. I LED'd mine too. I built it completely safe as well. ramped it from 100-300mW but it LED'd the second i turned it on the a few times later. maybe that is why you cant actually buy a BDR-S03 drive anywhere. you have to just buy the sleds because they know...

couldnt agree more. got my GB sled today and had it running while ramping it up to 300mA, but as soon as i rewired it through he neutral case pin it LED'd. this diode sucks though. If we cant figure out how to run it properly we need to stop promoting it.

welp. I have good news and bad news. I was able to get my BDR-S03 to turn on and it was beautifully bright. I ramped the diode for the first time as not to shock it from 100mA to 200mA. It lived still. I then ramped it further to 300mA and it was intense. I was using a V4 flex drive and it was...

Hey all, Quick question for those of you who have ventured into this before. The pin layout for the BDR-S03 is the same for all blu-rays? with the ground pin being the middle one? Also, can I neutral case wire the diode to a flex drive?

another thing here is that you bought all of those as sleds from the same place. They were not purchased as new blu-ray disc drives. Meaning they may have not met quality or may have been defective. I just got my sled in this morning from the same group buy. Im going to attempt to ramp it up to...
