Not sure if you're joking or not, but it's not only just voltage that matters. The current capacity of AA cells is decently high with a quality cell like an eneloop, but an alkaline? Forget about it.

I would be very surprised if their standard usb spectrometer were under 3K, not to mention their Raman Spectrometer system which I doubt would be under 6K.. You would not need a spectrometer with this sort of accuracy. Might as well get the surplus ones on ebay.

not sure what's going on, but on my system it seems frame limited to 60fps. my lcd is 60 hz, is yours higher? my card(s) are hovering at around 20% usage.
