Welcome aboard!!! I worked with dye laser before (many years ago)... hope I can help you. removed is correct, try something that is easy to lase, such a rhodamine dye. Do you have dyes already? If you do, which ones? Also, if you can, use the 355nm, is very easy to induce lasing on dyes...

If you want to use the plastic battery holder that comes with this host, use three (3) 10440 (protected) in parallel. That will give you <1.5mAh capacity. :D As reference, a 18650 carries around 2400-3000mAh.
