    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers ..or simply open it up with several people as a witness. this would be sufficient here, at least. which has nothing to do at all with "getting" those (maybe chinese) sellers.. manuel

    Idea for driver/host

both true, forgot about those! isolating: I was thinking to put two strips of tape at the ends of a module or heatsink, to keep distance to the host. then fill that tiny gap with epoxy or thermal paste. true again, the AMC is a linear regulator, burning the excess "voltage" to heat. the battery...

    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: Super cheap 445nm lasers if this works out its great news! come on, its sad to sacrifice such a nice thing like a whole state-of-the-art projector just for the lasers.. *runs and hides* i agree, be careful. they might sell you one or few blocks for a great price, then you do a big GB with...

    Idea for driver/host

i agree, those amc7135 chips are amazing! used two in parallel for a greenie, with no extra components at all. if you have the space (and those chips are tiny!) go for it, add a capacitor. there is a note on that on the amc7135 datasheet. each chip gives 350mA, I found them to give me around...

Merged 445nm Pictures and Video Thread

Re: 445nm "sled" pics you are talking about cylindrical (toroidal) lenses. aspherics, on the other hand, are no spheres, but irregularly formed. they still are rotational symmetric. an icycle (the pointy ice thingie hanging from roofs) is kinda an aspheric. manuel

    445nm Laser Diode Compilation Thread

Re: 445nm Casio Laser Diode Compilation Thread ..that stuff isnt that hard to get: Ultra Green v10 Glow in the Dark Paint - they have many many kinds: different colors, as well as different types (powder, paint etc). they have the brightest/longest glowing stuff by far, i compared them when i...

    445nm Laser Diode Compilation Thread

Re: 445nm Casio Laser Diode Compilation Thread there are dozens of different "phosphorous", which dont have anything to do with the chemical element "phosphor". the "bleach" in paper and fabric is just one kind, fluorescing blue. in fluorescent lamps are several of those mixed, for example...

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

Thanks to Glenn, we now know what Nichia US quotes for those LEDs! the most interesting one would be: NCSU033B (325mw) 1-5: 125$ NCSU033B (325mw) 6-99: 99$ the lower -a version is not much cheaper, with 105$ and 75$. the quad-die-LED would be 190$ up to 999 pieces. so, will we be able to...

awesome, thank you for your help, glenn! :-) curious how this will turn out.. manuel

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

    Update: Answer from Nichia Germany: NCSU033A (250mw): 1-10 140$ (110€) 10+ 127$ (100€) NCSU033B (325mw): 1-10 [still no answer] 10+ 153$ (120€) NC4U133 (950mw): 1-10 223$ (175€) 10+ 191$ (150€) It seems like they quote much higher prices than Nichia USA. Quotes found HERE: NCSU033A...

    WTB/Feeler: Nichia 365nm LEDs

with 250mw to 1 watt optical power I would already call it "high power" :-) (otherway its hard to justify the costs, not?) well, fluorescence of course! with such a low wavelength, you dont need to block the UV with glasses the same way as with 395nm. no yellow googles needed. you SHOULD...

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

you are absolutely right! a host which manages 8w heat should be large enough to accept two cells as well. those suggest that the driver is pretty efficient all in all. and they show nicely that the higher the input voltage, the higher the efficiency, just like you said. manuel

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

AAAH, Glenn, youre killing me! looks great! powerful! :-) About driving one of these: the SHARK driver goes up to 32v output, adjustable up to 900mA, from a single LiIon (input current limited to 4A, thats the only real limitation!). pretty tiny too, 0.750 inch(19.1mm) diameter. there may be...

    WTB/Feeler: Nichia 365nm LEDs

..I made a new thread for a possible GB, HERE, in the proper forum. Hope its not considered doubleposting, will (re)move this thread here if asked. Manuel

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

EDIT: [from post #10:] The groupbuy will be for the NCSU033B LED, 365nm, 325mw. 99$ if we reach a number of 6 only! ------------------------------------- HERE I was trying to buy some of the new NICHIA high power 365nm LEDs. I am of course talking about the 250mw, 325mw and 950mw output...

    WTB/Feeler: Nichia 365nm LEDs

..thats more response than I expected, great! :-) Flaminpyro, I guess your LEDs have a lower output than those two I linked, with 325mw or 950mw optical output! what model are they exactly? manuel

    WTB/Feeler: Nichia 365nm LEDs

I am having a hard time sourcing any of the Nichia 365nm LEDs, be it the "smaller" 325mw or the newer 950mw version. -->Nichia Those are really strong, emit almost no visible light at all, and are far more powerful and efficient than other manufacturers models. Does anyone want to sell one of...

    632-640nm 250mw CW diode 5.6mm

wait, a complete green module in a 5.6mm can? i doubt we will see that.. but then i was already surprised when i saw a 5.6mm can with integrated driver ;-) have a link? manuel
