    What is a good divergence?

My 473nm Pl-E Pro gave me a divergence measurement of 0.5mRad, which is the lowest I've ever had. I'd consider 1.2mRad and less to be good.

    Post your random pics!

Oh totally, it looks like it hit the poor fellow in the arm somewhere, that's gotta hurt.

    Post your random pics!

Oh whoops, I think you misunderstood, I should've made that more clear. That first gif is not me, that's an old gif from somewhere else. I used it because it's just about exactly what happened, except with a pop bottle. Yea that's a champagne bottle in the gif, I would definitely not wanna be...

    Post your random pics!

Don't think I've shared this here before. When I was like 11 or 12 I was dicking around with my friends making baking soda and vinegar bombs, you know when you fill a water bottle with said ingredients and seal it off and wait for the fun to happen? Well we ran out of water bottles, and thought...

LPF History 102 - Where Are They Now?

No, there's a difference between rep power and rep points. You for example have 1088 rep POWER, but 107638 rep POINTS. I think rep points is just what you've received, while rep power is like 1/100 of your rep points plus points for every certain amount of posts and bonuses from how long you've...

Huge sale! New things added! :d

Sadly no, it's for my chemistry final lab and I'm observing an effect I noticed with fluorescence and 473nm lasers, it requires me to block out me viewing any blue light and only the higher wavelengths caused by fluorescence. I'll probably make a thread on it later when I start collecting data ;)

FEK! Was gonna order those goggles literally within an hour  If you for some reason cancel that order Sean lemme know, but no worries, they're yours :)

LPF History 102 - Where Are They Now?

Basically it just tracks a laser dot around in a perfectly level circle very fast, leaving a nice 360° line. I've used them before for foundation setting and painting :)

    Harbor Freight bug zapper

Yeah what a lot if the 'lifetime warranty' tools do these days is once your tool goes kaput they'll make you ship it off to some far off land to claim it, which sometimes can cost you as much as or more than the tool in the first place, so it wouldn't even be worth it. Hopefully that's not what...

    Harbor Freight bug zapper

Alright good. But I mean similar to HF, Power Fister isn't exactly synonymous with 'quality' or 'buy it for life', it's great if you need like a one time use special carbide insert or something and the dime-a-dozen quality will suffice. Also it's great for little doodads and gadgets, free or alike.

    Harbor Freight bug zapper

Protip: Canadian version of Horror Fright is Princess Auto, y'know the one with the 'Power fist' brand. I don't know if they're actually located around where you are but I know for sure they're healthily sprinkled around the western prairie provinces. Absolute blast shopping there, especially in...

LPF History 102 - Where Are They Now?

Hey rog, clearly your times here were far before mine but welcome back nonetheless! It's always great to hear how long this hobby can stick with someone. What do you use your 405nm for every day still?

Huge sale! New things added! :d

Re: HUGE SALE! Tons of wavelengths! :D Yeah just a head cold, It is the beginning of flu season here so no worries. It does suck when I have to miss classes too though, cause school is even less fun when you have to play catch-up ;)

    home sweet home

Welcome back! Not too many new diodes since you left I believe, but I know prices have dropped dramatically for the diodes like the 6+W NUBM44, the 1W 520s, and the 470+nm 5W NUBM07E!

Huge sale! New things added! :d

Re: HUGE SALE! Tons of wavelengths! :D Great prices Alex, would've totally snagged the 405 and 515 by now if I had any money at all, I'm sick as a dog too so I can't work. Best of luck w/ the sales!

What's this orange coming from my 520?

Cheers man, that might solve it. For anyone else who's too lazy to read the whole thread, it basically comes down the owner of the diode shipping it off to a member with a spectrometer, and once spectro'd we find out the laser really is giving out secondary lines in the 590+/- range. I would've...

What's this orange coming from my 520?

Yeah fluorescence wouldn't preserve the collamination. But it must be something to do with the dye in the plastic of the goggles.
  18. Gabe

What's this orange coming from my 520?

That is pretty strange. Have you ran the regular collaminated beam straight from the diode into that diffraction grating, put onto a wall very far away so you can go up to it and see if you can discern any second lines? This is also a total crapshoot from my end but could this have anything to...

465nm 5W Optical Corrected 8 Lenses System Blue Balista Handheld Laser.

Re: 467nm 5W Optical Corrected 8 Lenses System Blue Balista Handheld Laser. Never to disappoint. What a laser! And still peaking at 5W AFTER correction and collamination! I also always love the skeleton designs. +Rep for you and CDBEAM if I can!

    Holy @#$%... $100 488nm diode!!

 lmao cheers, I'll have to use that one too. I actually had to define 'dark humour' in English the other day, so I used the classic "Dark humour is like food; not everyone gets it". Again, sorry Jordan for how this has turned out. I appreciate you taking the risk, as do the rest of us.
