Yeah, it gets pretty dark from the oxidization. I've been using Rennaissance Wax to protect it, and while it seems to greatly slow it down, I have yet to get it to stop tarnishing. It's not bad though, I just rub it down with brasso when I want to make it shiny.

No. You can decan the diode, but the window is inside the diode's can. So it's pull the whole can off, or try to clean it agian.

The only local brick-and-mortar store that has good li-ions I've found near me is an e-cig store. There's one down the street from me that has AW IMR 18650s. That's what I use, had an efest but AW IMRs blew it away.
