Harbor Freight has some bigger aluminum cases. They're more for multiple laser storage though.

I've used those pens twice so far for builds. It's a really tight fit, and some machining is needed if you want to use a 12mm Aixiz module front half.

When you say "solid metal", do you mean stainless steel, aluminum... Also is it really solid? Like an actual bar of metal solid? Because it'll take a lot more then just drilling a hole through it in order to accommodate a laser module, batteries, tail switch, etc.

I definitely believe it. The beams on my 85mw 520 and my 740mw 445 look almost the same, brightness wise. The dot on the 520 is probably actually brighter.

My laptop came with 7 originally, had 4g of ram, and right around a 2g processor. I don't recall at the moment the exact specs on the processor though. I just installed 8g of ram, which has made a noticeable difference. And I'm seriously considering upgrading to a SSD.
