You can get him to send it without any batteries or the tail cap in one package, and the rest of the items in the other. Customs won't be able to test it to prove it's over the limit. I'm sure he'd be willing to accommodate you, and a little extra on shipping is worth the insurance.

And you never really know how many blenders they go through (or at least blades). Yeah they can blend most things, but they don't mention the condition of the blender afterwards...

Well yes, but they avoided using any kind of soldering anywhere else in the video. Also, soldering is a little more permanent, and the risk of damage is higher for the majority of people.
