    Light saber...proof of concept

The idea has been buzzing around in my head for some time that I wanted to make a light saber using lasers. I also wanted it to have an adjustable length blade that fully retracts. I have now built a proof of concept model using 3 5mw greenies, I took a movie of it with a bit of smoke...

Blu-ray dummy load help, 1kohm resistor

If you can use a 10ohm or 100ohm before considering a 1k... If they are not close tolerance, lets say 2%. A 1k could be 20ohms out (unlikely) a 10ohm would only be 0.2ohms out All that said if the 1k is all you can get use it and multiply the meter reading by 1000 Regards rog8811

    7 colour pocket spiro!

The only reason I didn't try the PHR one is that I chipped it badly removing it so the PS3 was the only other one I had to hand, good news that it works well enough to use as PS3's are getting hard to find at a reasonable price these days. When I put this build onto my site I will use some of...

    Blu-ray = Disappointment

18 months ago we were all amazed by 20mw Blu-rays as they were the only way of getting somewhere near to blue, I still use my first one daily for presentations and still think it cool, but these days they have been replaced with ones capable of 500mw... how times change:) Enjoy it for what it...

2 diodes surely for half wave rectification.... 4 diodes for full rectification.... you should be able to use 1N4001 diodes as we all have loads of them:) Regards rog8811 EDIT, as you were, I have just done some reading you can do it with one diode....Sorry ;)

I cannot be sure of it being 100% but it is designed for blu-ray and red so it must be pretty good. Have you tried green through the SF-AW210 dichro? Regards rog8811
