Laser casing parallel to laser itself?

Here is an off the wall idea for you. When I was a newbie I started using camera rangefinders as beam combiners, you could use it the other way with one green laser:). By shining the laser into the eye piece you will get 2 beams, then all you need to do is adjust the ranging knob until you get...

    New project inquiry

The green lasers usually come with a driver fitted, the highest voltage you can use is 3.6v, anything higher and they overheat and die. Could I suggest 2 Rckstr drives on a common supply (red and Blu-ray) then use another 3.6v supply for the green. This could be done with batteries but if you...

    New project inquiry

....That would do one laser, or do you want them all on at the same time all of the time? ....Or do you have 3 key switches and 3 relays? More info please:) Regards rog8811

Setting the current on a Driver

I haven't looked recently but didn't Rkcstr used to offer preset 100ma drivers? I may be wrong. @connor.... If you are going to be serious about lasers $10 will get you a multimeter that you will use time and time again, the test load that chip linked too on my site will cost you cents to...

    New project inquiry

You need a 3 wire, tricolour LED one wire is common other 2 for the red and green. put a limiting resistor for each colour then you can fine tune the brightness of each. Regards rog8811 EDIT...I have done a picture, you need a master switch to have an off/off position;) If you are using a...

    DIY Homemade laser diode driver

A 1/2 watt resistor is fine for most applications Yes, like this..... (picture shows it set up for IR LD but it is the same for all driver/laser diode combinations, just use the correct number of diodes. Alternate test point is for checking out a driver with the LD already attached so ignore...

    New project inquiry

Not worth the hassle as you need to have any capacitors directly mounter to the LD's and you need different current for the red and b-r LD's. The drivers are so cheap these days ;) Regards rog8811

modding an AC/DC radio to a battery only radio.

The first picture seems to show a connector for a 9v battery.... have yoiu tried using it? The wires from it seem to go to the circuit board near the rectifier bridge....they may of course just support the clock if it has one.... Regards rog8811

    DIY Homemade laser diode driver

you can use 5v input....as long as your laser diode only needs 2v to run ...but you already know that as you looked it all up using search.....;) ("psst!" click the link to my website and go to the driver page, all you need to know in one place). Regards rog8811

    Slow down motors

I have adapted R/C servos to make speed controlable rotary geared motors. You need to remove the pot that controls the position and on some servos there is a little tag to remove on one of the gears, then the output shaft will go right round. Regards rog8811

Driver Test Load for PHR-803T Schematic

It doesn't matter where the resistor is, it could go either end or even between diodes it would do the job. First picture shows a test load set up to do either red or blu-ray. Note direction of white stripes on diodes and colour coded pos and neg wires. Second picture shows how to test an IR...

Is This Wrong >>> Using Dorcy Without Driver Just A Resistor

You can build a DDL driver for a couple of dollars, See link in my sig, that is far less that the cost of replacing a blown LD. Regards rog8811
