    SCAMMED BY DAY "of Shadows"

Look I am not defending him here, just playing devils advocate... I am not going to look around the forums to find out when the buy took place, I don't know how long ago you first tried to contact him BUT 25th May to now is still just in the range of a vacation, just a thought. Regards rog8811

    Laser doesn't really work.

.... if you pull the circuit board out of the slot in the metal lens housing you will find that the laser is a small chip soldered to the front of the board.... Regards rog8811

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

Help us out, not everyone has the time to click links to find out...... I would guess that the range of the driver we have been discusssing will work fine with that module. As to the point of the large driver, they should be more robust and better regulated, I have had similar ones from DX and...

    7 colour pocket spiro!

I have to say that looks very futuristic:) Great job! You need to be replacing that dichro don't forget. Regards rog8811

    Secret Laser created by me..haha.

You could mod that into a laser for less than 5euros, go to the DX site and order a module with a 5mw laser fitted. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5914 5 minutes work and you can be up and running. Regards rog8811

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

So when I wrote "Do you have another 1ohm resistor? If so put it between the battery and the driver, doesn't matter if it is in the pos or neg line, now measure the mv across the resistor, what do you get"? Did you try it or not? the reason I suggested it was as a diagnostic tool to check what...

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

Does your setup look like this? (shows 2 1N4001's.. you will now try 3) EDIT...... as the OP is now sorted I will explain why the drawing shows two 1ohm resistors and multimeters You can test the driver for a green with a test load of three 1N4001 diodes (not two as shown) and a 1ohm...

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

I am trying to be patient but, although I aluded to it earlier you have still not even said what colour laser it is..... my guess is green, so you are going to be connecting to an IR laser diode. So your 2 diodes should be about right BUT you could try adding another one. IR LD's run at a much...

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

Actually ignore my question about the neg connection above, looking at the circuit layout either one will do it.... Now, you are getting current draw, but not the amount you would expect. Please clarify, are you using a 1ohm resistor on the input? Regards rog8811

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

So on the face of it you have done nothing wrong..... Do you have another 1ohm resistor? If so put it between the battery and the driver, doesn't matter if it is in the pos or neg line, now measure the mv across the resistor, what do you get? Regards rog8811 Which of these pads are you using...

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

OK so your test load looks like this (with the correct number of diodes for the colour laser you are using. You have soldered it to where the laser diode will be soldered onto the driver circuit when you have tested it. You can measure a voltage across the diodes, so it looks like current is...

RGV Adjustable Sled Mount Heat Sinks - Feeler

There is a lot of good stuff going on here :) @sightfx you have answered my query on the other thread with the second to last photo, I would agree with Jay that you could afford to go a bit smaller but nice job, good luck with selling them. Regards rog8811

    7 colour pocket spiro!

....of course I have re-thought my question above.... you focus it before fitting the adjuster plate... brain burp:whistle: Regards rog8811

Need help with setting current on a Driver!

To answer both your questions without the relavent info, I offer the following... 1) how many diodes? Green needs 2 or 3 diodes Red needs 4 diodes Blu-ray needs 6 diodes 2) how many volts Start with 5 volts then turn it down, if the laser still seems stable and as bright at 3v you can use...

    Spirograph. help please :P

As long as they are well balanced, vibrations will spoil the effect...just a thought... super glue on wood? I am not sure how well that would work as the wood will soak it up...maybe Regards rog8811
