BluBlockers vs Red Safety Glasses (Pics Included)

That is really interesting what you are saying about certain laser wavelengths and their color still being visible such as green and red despite the goggles adequate protection. It makes sense for green since it is near the peak of color sensitivity, but for red why would this be I wonder...

Is this laser legal to sell in the US?

I see, thanks for the correction. :D

BluBlockers vs Red Safety Glasses (Pics Included)

It does look like it is stopping it somewhat. But the telltale sign that it is not doing enough is the fact that you can still see blue (which you should not see at all) through both those glasses. With adequate goggles you should only see a whitish spot through the glasses and no blue at all...

Is this laser legal to sell in the US?

Actually, Laserglow and Skylasers have FDA certified lasers. Many other companies sell lasers with FDA safety features. Laserglow is more local as well and is in Canada.

Ever have one of those days...

I'm really sorry to hear about all that Zraffleticket. I know you might not be able to respond right away, but where was your 473nm module from and what was the shipping company? As for the 593.5, have you seen it personally yet or is it still with your middleman?

Lazerer Rifle - 405nm 500mW+ Acrylic lens melting?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the acrylic lens on the 500mW 405nm Devil Rifle and had noticed if there was any possibility of warping or melting of the lens. Lazerer's 445nm 1W+ Rifle Lasers now have 3 element glass lenses, but the 500mW 405nm "Devil Rifle" still has...

    A new guy's little collection...

Those are some good pictures and nice collection you have started! :D Thanks for taking some with the two 532nm's side by side to compare the beam size. Does anyone know why the 400mW + Lazerer and O-like 532nm's have a thicker beam than the less powered 532nm's by any chance?

    Do not buy from o-like

I'm glad your finally getting some enjoyment out of yours! :) I really love the thicker beam too, and I hope there becomes more of these built in beam expanders as they seem to be more affordable, unlike the attachable ones that are more pricey. It would so cool to see an integrated beam...

    Do not buy from o-like

I should probably mention that I have noticed mine flicker as well. What it looks like when mine does it is that it is briefly putting out more mW then goes back to whatever it was putting out before. I wish I had an LPM to check out what it is doing. I probably would notice this more but I...

    Do not buy from o-like

Tacoherder, weren't they initially claiming as well that they did not receive the defective laser even though you had the tracking information to prove that it did arrive? When did they end up acknowledging that they had received it and how did you get them to admit that it had arrived? Even...

Let's see how fast you can light a candle!

Those are some good points, thanks and interesting observation of the melting of wax within the wick itself becoming more reflective. :) You really should make a video of that! Is it a 40W CO2? It reminded me of watching a special effects how it is done type show for a horror and sci fi...

Lazerer - enters the computer market?

Ok now this is too weird. I just checked back and now and it is a generic Bible selling website... I wish I could take a screenshot. :p It is strange as it seems that you can see the website while I can't seem to get it to load up.

Let's see how fast you can light a candle!

You also need to make sure the distance of the laser to the candle is right according to the specific focus you have it adjusted to. That said, I don't really know what the required mW is to light a candle wick. I would be curious to know actually.

Lazerer - enters the computer market?

Strange.... I just checked 3 minutes after you noticed it back up and its still that generic non related website... Guess I'll check back in a day or two. I always like browsing there just to see what might be new. :)

What do you use them for?

As basic as it sounds, I primarily use my lasers for nothing other than the fact that I enjoy looking at the beam. :) Depending on wavelength of laser and the method used to produce the light the beam can be thin or thick. If you add a beam expander the beam can be much thicker, but then the...

Lazerer - enters the computer market?

I think they have had trouble with their site from time to time but it always has come back on and I don't think there is any reason they would have gone out of business, so lets hope it's back up again in a few days like how this happened a few times in the past.

Build thread: 4.4W 445nm dual diode laser

Re: Concept: 4W corrected 445nm handheld That is an epic project and I can't wait to see how it turns out! Will it be possible to achieve the same beam width and divergence of a single diode laser?

Why do chicks scream so much?

Very interesting to read about the biological reasons for this. I hope I am not deviating from the discussion but it is interesting what was mentioned about the conscious or subconscious desire for the woman to have her pleasureful vocalizations heard by others. It is something I think I have...
