FS : 1.4W green 525nm, blue 450nm, and some my builds!

What diode is in the 1.4W 525nm, and what current is it being driven at? Has it been metered on a lpm? I assume the heatsink is aluminum?

    589 MilkyWay

Lovely. Have you seen the time lapse videos of the observatory on mauna kea Hawaii? I believe they use a 10W 589nm. Can be found on youtube. "Mauna Kea Heavens"

    BDR-209 advice

mine is in a 501B but the heatsink is copper... I just have terrible luck. my obsession with GITD/fluorescent stuff means this laser sees a lot of use so a longer duty cycle is desirable for me anyway yeah, I still drop in every now and then. gotta try to stay away from the religion thread. now...

    BDR-209 advice

I have had bad luck with these diodes. I kept having them die on me, and every time I ordered a new one from DTR I'd have him set the current a little lower. the one I have now has lasted quite a while, but only does about 650ish mW. My sig says it's driven @ .520A, lower than most go. as wizard...

    Sanwu Lasers - Offical thread

just stopping by to say that i ordered a 50mW 505nm pocket from sanwu. i recieved a unit that only peaked at 24ish mW. also the lens was epoxied in really well and I couldnt remove it to swap it out. I emailed them and let podo know, asking for a new module and focus adapter. they have just...

    help with a host

thanks again. I think I sold a 445nm 4W~ish diode to lifetime17 at one point, that thing still kicking? Rich, I take it you do custom hosts in general? I might be interested in some in the future

    help with a host

yeah I know. it'll also save me on shipping, the heatsink is like 90% of the weight. thanks again, going to mail it right now. will PM you the tracking.

    help with a host

ummm, I think I'll send it without the head. the head is 2" diameter copper, about 2 1/2" tall, weighs quite a lot. but sure, the handle part and tailcap. thanks for helping

thanks. I see you're a mod now, congrats on that. I'll PM him

    help with a host

hey folks, it's been a while since I've been active. i take a peek every now and then. anyway, some of you may remember a host I had Ehgemus make for me. it's still my favorite. a while back, the threads for the tail cap got messed up. not sure if I misaligned them or what but it's certainly...

FS: Sanwu Laser store - RGB handheld lasers, 405nm,445nm,465nm,470nm,505nm,515nm,520nm,525nm,635nm,650nm

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele 1.6W 405nm? yes please. figured it would be multimode, sounds like ok divergence. I'm used to trying to tame nubm44 and oclaro 638s with g7 lenses, so if it's better than those, that works for me. I see there...

Laser safety goggles ok for Solar Eclipse ?

Yes I know the sun emits the entire spectrum, that's why I asked what range needs to be guarded against. Does the atmosphere not block most of the UV? The thread may be old, I honestly didn't look. Thought it was new based on the fact an eclipse is imminent. With both pairs on, it is hard to see...

Laser safety goggles ok for Solar Eclipse ?

I was wondering about this too. What range of wavelengths needs to be guarded against? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that staring at the sun was like having a 30mW laser shone into your eye. If this is true, wouldn't OD4 glasses be sufficient, assuming they blocked the relevant range...

    <pending>FS:Ophir 20c-A-1-Y + Brand new meter

Re: FS: 3-3.5Watt 445nm Copper Dominator, 2x26650 blue laser (Pristine Condition) the diode is almost certainly a NDB7875 I had bad luck with their life span, went through two pretty fast. the host is great though, huge heat sink. 2" copper I believe. mine used to house my nubm44, and now...

Optotronics RPL-II 532 nm +1400 mW - opinions and experience?

yeah the optotronics logo isnt a huge deal, I just liked it on the old one because it isnt a sticker, it's like a darkened part of the knurling. I'd hesitate to call them the best portables made. they have some downsides. like shutter design. I much prefer the shutter on my laserbtb unit it's...

Most expensive laser you have ever bought?

    1. RPL I got from DJNY. one of my most regretted buys, after all that happened, and has come out since. IIRC, I paid $900 for it 2. PL-E 800mW 532 I used to have was like $700ish 3. my 589 spartan. my custom 2" diameter copper heatsink ehgemus nubm44 build. my PL-E 1W 520nm w BE. all cost over...

Optotronics RPL-II 532 nm +1400 mW - opinions and experience?

yeah, that much IR getting through doesnt concern me. I paid $900 for that RPL originally IIRC. DJNY told me it had been upgraded with regards to the crystals or something? hard to remember exactly. lemme see if I can find the thread. I am more than pleased with your efforts Jack, no resentment...

Optotronics RPL-II 532 nm +1400 mW - opinions and experience?

this is accurate. I didn't mean to be a pain or insinuate any wrongdoing on your part Jack. I bought it originally from the member here, DJNY Edit: recieved it today. disappointed with the black finish. there is no knurling on the handle, no optoronics logo, and it no longer has a variable...
