    Why Gas?

Ive been lurking gas lasers for awhile just learning and understanding. I have some questions about gas laz's. Why choose gas? Whats the advantage over diode lasers? Why spend 300+ currency on a less than 40mw laser? And lastly, why are they so expensive? Thanks guys!

    18650 Single Holder

Pffffffft I ordered some phone cases. I disputed the charge because it took 3 months past expected date. randomly got my cases nearly 4 months later. Thats what im doing now! Getting my card out and ordering. Danke!

    18650 Single Holder

That's exactly what I'm looking for. My host is an old metal marine electrical box. So that means all metal. Ive seen some styrofome/cardboard holders before and ive seen battery's short before and it's not worth burning the house down. The only ones I found were huge ships and out of stock.

    18650 Single Holder

Hey y'all. I've been looking for a battery holder for an 18650 li-ion battery, but the one I found takes 3 weeks to ship. Anyone know of a better source? eBay or a member here?

    After focusing "Whiskers"

Its been fixed! I found some gnarly lint I must have slipped in there, on top of the lens being in backwards. Made a bad problem seem worse! Thank you all so much for helping. :D

    After focusing "Whiskers"

Here lies the problem. My father was checking it and looking through it when he decide to free the lens from the assembly. He placed it on soft cloth, but that still leaves dust and incorrect re-installation. I could put it back together if I had proper order. Picture in 2 hours If that...

    After focusing "Whiskers"

I got it from dtr-lpf on eBay. I would assume the lpf refers to his presence on here. He also has 100% seller rating over 1100 products sold which means he's god of customer service and not cheating people.

    After focusing "Whiskers"

They do not turn with the lens, as I turn the lens the circle tightens into a dot leaving the whiskers in place.

    After focusing "Whiskers"

I flipped the lens around and same deal, looked exactly the same. Maybe I'm an idiot and put it in the same way but I doubt it. I have it now as the convex side of the lens is pointing towards the diode. That's the unfocused beam right out of the diode. At Infinitus, I think it was your...

    After focusing "Whiskers"

Just got my 1.3 watt 445nm build together and noticed this: :wtf: Its focused to the smallest spot possible, but it has these huge whiskers. This is at maybe 6ft range and the spread is of 1.5ft radius (each). M140 diode through a 405 G-2 lens. Ideas?

Confusion and Questions on Lenses for 445nm

leodahsans data is very compelling. I will have heat sinks and two fans inside a 4inch alloyed metal cube. The lens and base module (not torch that fits over it) will be attached to the case and will have heatsinks alllll overrr the place.

    1.2W in custom build

Re: 1W in custom build ahhh, ratio of say 1 foot spread over a one mile beam distance. that would be extremely expensive in the optics department. I've contacted a company here in seattle that specializes in laser optics and they've spec'd out some glass for me that will do what I need. its...

    One watt, how many mA???

Beam viewing and pointing for sure. I've decided in getting the o-like model collimating lens and module. it makes the most sense for my host. thank you all for your help and suggestions, they be invaluable.

Confusion and Questions on Lenses for 445nm

I think im going to stick with the o-like colimating lens and module. big hunk of heat conducting metal.

    One watt, how many mA???

I would love to keep power but keep down divergence... Ya have to give to take i guess. I would probably go with the broadband with the 445 coating.
