    if the 18350's fit then they are your best choice. buy good ones like aw. sounds like there is a linear driver in the laser, if that's the case you will need the full 7.5 - 8.4V 18350's provide for full power output.

    very nice isaac! what lens are you using? from dtr's testing, it looks like you should be getting ~230mW. i like this diode a lot, once my cash flow reflows it will be the first one i buy.

    i'm with you on the dimensions being the same. i haven't done any power output tests myself, but others have said the gb lens outputs slightly LESS than the g2. and other tests have shown the g9 slightly outperforms the g2.     you could go with a c11 type host which holds a pretty massive heat sink and would fit 2x 18350 cells. see mrcrouse and save a few dollars here http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/prices-dropped-c11-side-clicky-1x18650-or2x18350-host-kits-77205.html you could get up to 3W+ with a good run time...
