    TI-B *review ( 2016 )

When I saw this title I thought you were tearing apart one of THESE: But these were the Ti-A if I remember right. One of my favorite hosts ever. Period. If you had torn one of those I would have shed a tear. EDIT: Hakzaw1 will agree with me. Ti-A was phenomenal. I miss mine haha

UPDATE! NEW PICS! Checking Back In, a Couple Pictures

Re: Checking Back In, a Couple Pictures Thanks guys! The second one is a concept I have been experimenting with about turning Ubran scenes into a Tron alternate universe version of themselves. ~490nm seemed like the perfect hue for the conversion.

UPDATE! NEW PICS! Checking Back In, a Couple Pictures

Hey guys, just checking back in seeing how everyone is doing. Hope all is well. I have been off taking pictures and figured I would share them with yall. Hope yall like it! And just so you know I am just as consistently broke as I was when all my money was going to lasers haha. Just...

    Orion Photograph

The hard part is that longer you go, the shorter the time you can expose for. With 600mm I wouldn't go much longer than 1/2 a second for sharp stars. Orion being surprisingly large, I like 200mm a lot. Whatever you do though, stacking can help tons. Take 20-30 pictures and run them through...

    Super Blood Moon!!! Totality Photography!

Still trying to figure that out haha. Not sure thinking it might be a planet...but I'm not up to date on all my planetary astronomy so no idea. It was consistent in all 4800 pictures taken.

    Super Blood Moon!!! Totality Photography!

So here is what I ended up with. Full disclosure, I was not getting as much detail as I really wished I could get(I suspect it is similar to why things photographed in soft light aren't as sharp, soft light, soft image). So I kind of adapted a frequency separation workflow to my processing. I...

Yeah no kidding. My lens weighs more than my steel framed camera.

    Orion Photograph

I'm glad you are enjoying it still! Out of all the lasers I miss, it is that one....and my lightsaber :) As for my setup. My camera is no longer available purchased new, but here is a run down of current market prices: Pentax K5-II: $500 O-GPS-1 Unit: $190 Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Lens: $850...

    Orion Photograph

Pentax is the only brand camera that has it. It is an in-camera stabilization that utilizes magnets to move the sensor during the exposure. Typically it just allows crisp images during normal photography, but Pentax figured out a way to adapt it to make it work for star tracking. I can do up to...

    Orion Photograph

I use a Pentax K5-II DSLR, which in conjunction with their GPS attachment has the ability to move its sensor during the exposure to track the stars. So in answer to your question, sort of. I only used my DSLR and a Tripod but it does track.

    Orion Photograph

Thanks guys! I added a second picture. The first picture that I had was a slightly cropped version because of DSS's memory limits when using their Drizzle option(basically upscales the image really well). The second one is what it truly looks like at 200mm.

    Orion Photograph

Hey everyone, I know this is a Laser forum, but I know a number of you guys also like photography and astronomy, so thought I would throw up a picture I took a week ago of the Orion Nebula as this was the first time it was visible this year in my area. Let me know what you guys think...

Fs: CUSTOM LASER HOSTS, NEW HOSTS ADDED TODAY 1/10/16

Re: Fs: CUSTOM LASER HOSTS, NEW HOSTS ADDED TODAY 8/24/15 Hey Ehgemus, been awhile since I have been on. Your hosts are looking better than ever, especially that one with the acrylic front piece, and I am glad to see those side switches in more and more models. Love the feel. Hope you are doing...

We okay? Not sure how a fairly common hyperbolic statement, used simply to express an intensity of desire for something, on an old thread warrants a neg rep. No one would seriously commit murder for something as simple as a laser diode, nor would anyone presume to take any such claims as serious...

    Some New Astrophotography Stuff

I went out tonight with more people and a new piece of gear and got the following. I think these are better overall than the prior ones. The first is Andromeda, the second is the Triangulum Galaxy, and then the rest are of an abandoned chapel we happened upon that had a great angle for the Milky...

    Some New Astrophotography Stuff

So I also had a lot of problems finding Andromeda until I finally knuckled down and taught myself how to read a Star Wheel. Star Wheels come based on your latitude. They look like a clock, and when you line up the date that you will be shooting with the time of day you will be shooting, the...

    Some New Astrophotography Stuff

Thanks guys! Eventually I will invest in a tracking mount or a telescope, but I love the fact that until then I can still get acceptable/satisfying results straight from the camera.
