    Ready to buy HANDHELD

Ricktrent is in the process of making the worlds most powerful "handheld" (should be called portable because it is just so massive) It will be 40-45W of 445nm and cost between $4-5000. If you want the most power in a Flashlight style handheld host then your best bet would be to wait for the...

    Ordering directly from Nichi@

worse beam specs and lower beam visibility for a little bit more power I would pay SO MUCH for that. There was a great post/test? about these and how they would be horrible for handhelds. It was from way back though and I cant seem to find it. Found it. This was from DTR and the multimode Osram 405

    Output Power formula.?

not really... the green SHG process I've read up to 38%+ efficient but that also depends on your setup. A temperature controlled lab laser will be more efficient than a flashlight. I think for green you could be looking at 130-180mw. I As for blue, (473nm or 457nm?) as far a 473 is concerned it...

    Help make safety goggles

wait what... you don't just make safety glasses that would be a horrible idea. With a 500mw laser you don't want to use an acrylic lens because you are getting to the point where the power density is to high and you can melt the lens. You could try these lenses...

    laser for beginner

The laser I linked had a wonderful clear beam it was a perfect Tem00 dot with no splash. They do come with a star cap which you can take off and that splits the beam into smaller beams. the star cap is also good as it acts as a dust cover preventing the beam from getting splashy. Good choice on...

    Cheapest Possible Yellow-Orange Laser?

^^^ Did you read my post? The divergence on the 300mw 635nm is garbage and the divergence on the 520's is great. in order to get the best possible alignment over what ever distance you choose you need diodes with similar divergence i.e. the single mode 120mW 635nm diode. A dichro would be way...

    laser for beginner

In order to work with in his budget the only goggles he can afford would be the cheap ones which would work fine if his laser is IR filtered and/or if he uses it responsibly. what if he ends up not liking lasers, and is then left with useless $45 glasses

    laser for beginner

The main problem with IR is that people do not realize it is a component of the lasers so even if they were to get safety glasses they would think that they are protected which is true for the green portion but if the beam is hitting the glasses then the IR component is going through them...

    laser for beginner

you could go with the joker. SFCG-100 532nm Green he is a member here and his lasers are high quality. They sell out so fast. This laser is in a really cool host and it is quite heavy duty feeling. it is still more fragile as it is dpss green though. all of his lasers come power tested and you...

    laser for beginner

if his budget is $50-60 then I don't think he is going to get $45 safety glasses too. If he gets the IR filter installed then pair of $5 ebay glasses would be ok for a 100mw green. If and when he decides to move on to more powerful lasers he should invest in better safety glasses.

    Cheapest Possible Yellow-Orange Laser?

if it is an orange HeNe then maybe if you are lucky 593.5 ins not orange it is a "amber-yellow" a few mW of dpss orange that would be small enough to integrate in this build would be around $4900. For a RGY combination laser you will need to pick some things. there are two types of green and...

    Need help on 632.8nm?

Opnext is in the process of making a 633nm diode as a "replacement" for HeNe lasers CNI offers DPSS 543nm 593.5nm and 604nm as a "replacement" for HeNe lasers they also offer 633nm they don't offer 611.8 nm, 1.1523 μm, 1.52 μm, 3.3913 μm but they do come close 607nm 1122nm 1532nm

    What causes light leakage?

Also if you have a three element lens you will get some internal reflections. My 445 dot looks like this, ( - ) but the outside splashes are very weak and can only be seen in heavy fog.

Auction: $100----500mW violet, 850mW blue, 250mW red, 2 sets of OEM goggles and more

I have quite a bit of fun reading old posts from like 2007-2010. so many people were very um lets just say "not nice". Looking back, it is fun to read about people flipping out over multimode diodes and how 1W lasers are too powerful for anyone to own and how all of our favorite wavelengths used...

    Build #2 pics & specs

You should not put the green diode in a stainless steel host. Is a poor material to use for heat dissipation. To top it off that is a small host too. the new green diode gives off a ton of heat if you put it in there you will most likely kill it or give it a horribly small duty cycle. The 1W...

Which one would you hail too?

500mW of 473 lame get the 1W nichia diode. Also 1W of 500nm would be the most killer of all rare builds
