my laser cutter and i made quesadillas

Get that toast thing to work. I am pretty sure someone sold a piece of toast with an image of the virgin mother on it for several hundred $

Any one here own Spyder III and JetLaser PL-E Pro ?

If you want to a glasses. Best lazer pokers for more to the 5000 watts is bringing you high qualities today. Sounds like a winner.

    FLIR just got affordable

What distributor did you get yours through? Looks like most are selling with firmware 2.3x now.

Game: Guess the mystery object !

Let's call it a yin-yang frog for those unique eyes. You still have to take your own pictures if you want to make it difficult.

Low power single mode vs high power multi mode laser diode divergence?

If it is just power density you need, and not visibility then blu-ray diodes win, but for a long distance visible beam you will get more bang for your buck with green. Also, low divergence may make for higher power density, but you will never be able to aim well enough to take advantage of that...

    Good starter laser?

Because the visibility of the beam due to Rayleigh scattering depends on the angle between the viewer and the beam axis, a dim beam may be quite visible to the one holding the laser, but not visible to those who are several feet (or hundreds of feet) away and at much higher angles WRT to the...

Whether Poll: Wicked Lasers should have its own page on Wikipedia

And... the world may never know whether or not you can see an unposted post in a closed thread that doesn't get posted in, but I'm hoping we find out soon.

Getting robbed by a fellow forum member!

That depends entirely on the situation. For example, I am in the middle of an exchange for a correct item with a respected forum member who happens to have been out of town for the past couple of weeks and was very busy a couple of weeks before that. Since I am aware of this, I am not...

    Question about 593.5nm wavelength classification

Now wouldn't that kind of depend on what your personal perception of "grayish" is? I'm pretty sure this is clearly in the black area.

    X-Boost the replacement for FlexDrive?

Yeah - I'm afraid that Lazeerer has gone the way of Dr.Lava.

    Laser price change over time?

Ah... but in fact the major influence on laser prices is in fact due to increased volume as they get used in consumer devices. When we see a diode getting used in a projector for example, there is a rapid and significant drop in price, even when we are generally unable to buy them in bulk from...

Party project with lasers, concerns about most adequate lasers to use

Well, for beam visibility protective glasses are not going to be your friend. If you have smoke and low ambient lights, then a < 5mw green beam will be plenty visible (unless you are wearing goggles) without posing too much eye damage risk. Green will certainly give the most visibility per...

    Mirror reflecting red only?

But they all have to be different wavelengths - and the separation between wavelengths has to be reasonable. You probably aren't going to be very successful using a dichro to combine a 635 and 680 for example.

first time poster/ first laser, thoughts?

Another great example of how NOT to make your debut on LPF. You should see some of the threads poking fun at people for ignoring the suggestions for new visitors. Please watch the following clip and then visit http://laserpointerforums.com/f37/how-get-along-accepted-lpf-82184.html [Edit]...

New Mitsubishi 1.8W 638nm diode in 9mm package

Still, by the time this is out the price of the 1W 520s will be down and we will see someone make a full RGB in the 8 watt range with 9mm diodes. Seems pretty exciting to me. I just might be the one to put together an 8W analog selectable color handheld

    Led laser?

If you use a very large and high quality lens, you could at best focus the light from the LED to a spot no smaller than about twice the size of the LED itself at a moderate distance of say 1m (and that would require this huge lens to be located about halfway to the target). With a smaller lens...

    Broken Diode.... Maybe?

If the output of your laser looks more like an LED then a laser, then there aren't any tools that you could borrow to fix it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like that diode is probably toast.

    Pioneer 16X BDR-209DBK

The diodes die either from being pushed for too long at too high of a current, or pushed with a current that's too "noisy" - especially with spikes at startup. Since these are diodes pulled from working burner sleds there isn't a datasheet on them. They would probably be expected to last for...
