New To Lasers (Can't Wait To Make A DEW)

We need to find a source for Kyber crystals. :-)

I think learning some physics may dampen their ambition a bit!

Simple Linear MOSFET Dimming Circuit + PWM

You were planning on using arduino to do PWM, correct? The outputs of these drivers are just MOSFETs, with buffer amplifiers to drive their gates. So just use the output you need (source or sink) and hook it to whatever circuitry you had planned for your discrete parts. If you need...

Has anyone heard of this Company or seen these old pointers?

Sounds like a plan. I don't work Fridays so I'll send you my addy and get your package in the mail tomorrow. I'll probably need to ship the batteries separately. Everything else though can go in one well padded box.

Simple Linear MOSFET Dimming Circuit + PWM

The output of that driver chip, and all others I've looked at, is a pair of MOSFETs; one source and one sink. Both are rated for several amps of current. The whole point of these drivers is to stand between microcontrollers or other low power control/logic and high power MOSFET or IGBT output...

    GH04V01A2GC

    Needs FAC.

Has anyone heard of this Company or seen these old pointers?

Yeppers! I'll take pix for you tonight. Package includes batteries and charger, goggles, and of course the laser itself. I tried it briefly and it's a beast. Avoid pointing it at anything flammable when you get it

Well well, I got a package I think you'll be interested in. I'll send pix when I get home. :-)

Simple Linear MOSFET Dimming Circuit + PWM

If you wanna do PWM with arduino then I'm suggesting scrapping the discrete MOSFET altogether and using something like this...

Simple Linear MOSFET Dimming Circuit + PWM

Your microcontroller can't deliver the current needed to drive a MOSFET gate at high frequency. There are MOSFET driver chips available. Some of these are rated for several amps of drive current and might eliminate the need for the discrete MOSFET altogether.

Damaged laser pointer collimating lens (532nm Laser 303)

Never seen a '303 made of plastic before. Looks like a little more than just the lens got jacked up. Just get a new one. That'll cost you less than a good quality lens. Better yet, spend a few more dollars and get a good laser from Sanwu or another builder.

New To Lasers (Can't Wait To Make A DEW)

Look up gyrotron on the google machine. Military is doing some... interesting things. A beam of radio energy in the 10s of GHz, packing a megawatt of power, does bad things to.....just about anything it hits.

Review of the Tinker brand 561nm SFDPSS Yellow-Green Laser Pen

Tinker', when you open your store will you be able to list the actual power of your products? I know on feepay you have to list everything as 5mW but obviously some of yours are a bit hotter than that!

Finally Got My Dream Laser Diode Nichia NDA7175 478NM 1W

If they're binned at 478 there might be a few here that would take the plunge. Gorgeous color!

New horizons Nichia NUBC31T coming soon 465nm 13W rated!

I'm sure the experiment will be done. Someone on the forum will hook up TEC cooling and see if they can get 20W outta this thing. :)

Having trouble with 6x10mm diode housing

OK, this picture, with the diode running. Turn the diode off and see if it's centered in the module. If it is then I'm gonna suggest trying a decent glass lens with a short focal length to capture the light before it spreads out enough to clip the edge of the 'tube' like that.

Having trouble with 6x10mm diode housing

Worth a shot, but that really looks like misalignment of the optics to me.

Having trouble with 6x10mm diode housing

How did you press your diode into the housing? I had a 405 diode that looked like your picture. The diode wasn't sitting flush in the housing so the raw output was hitting the edge of the lens instead of the center.
