    PBS beam combining two NUBM38s

I don't know the answer but I don't think you need to worry at your power levels. What I do know is that mirrors are currently far more laser-resistant than lenses, so one could try expanding some beams with a mirror expander, so there is a hole in the middle before putting them into the PBS...

    IR filter laser question

Cheap eBay lasers won't have one, so just buy the cheapest one you see and then glue this to the end (can cut it to shape): https://www.ebay.com/itm/UV-IR-Cut-Filter-Rectangular-28-x-20-mm-Thick-1-7mm-AR-Coating-For-Photography/265062907164 Full disclaimer: I have no idea if the above UV filter...

    Nugm04 question

If by collimator you mean the factory G-ball lens, then the flat window version can be mounted into a module as-is while the G-ball needs to be decanned so that it can be focused (AFAIK the NUG- series diodes don't die when decanned)

Is there a beam difference between 520nm and 525nm?

Odd, the 525nm laser diode is actually cheaper than the 520nm one...

    FOOD!!!!!

lol, I guess lasers could be used to draw intricate patterns onto otherwise boring dishes

does anyone know where to get a 575 or 561nm dpss laser module (has to be small enough to fit in a pointer, and any power is fine starting from 1mw)

561nm seems to be an affordable wavelength, but for me I only start to see "yellow" after 570nm... anything below that looks like piss green

It's not a non-answer. CNI specifically quoted me the mentioned price and specs when I asked and were willing to send me a unit... just that I'm too broke But the dragonlasers module is way better value, just out of curiosity did you know of any even more powerful providers? Thanks!

    Please don't do this.......

If they really managed to somehow detect people behind mosquitoes, I want one lol!

You will need a budget of at the very least $360 USD: https://www.gophotonics.com/products/lasers/changchun-new-industries-optoelectronics-tech-co-ltd-/29-264-pgl-h-589 They also make greener yellows afaik

But what if a human is a few meters behind the mosquito looking into the laser as it fires at the mosquito

Help - My First Build - Laser Cigarette Lighter

Of course it's still class IV! But under normal operation all someone would see is a nice {insert color here} laser beam lighting a cig inside an enclosure The safety mechanism could be a contact switch that the cig has to press from inside the enclosure to turn the lasers on (meaning the entry...

Help - My First Build - Laser Cigarette Lighter

You are still putting the IR-blocking layer, but the 5mW visible wavelength would be able to get through it
