Where did ya get the diode? Some one here could tell the nm if you post where you got it. From a sled? From a website? Then once you find out the nm of the diode you used , you look up the safety goggles for that nm.

Could you post a pic. Of the end of your laser that is missing? It could possibly be as simple as placing a short piece of wire from the end of the battery to the back of the host and securing it with tape. That might make it work till ya find the end cap!
