gonna try a 375nm pointer build...

Not sure. It could very well be a Nichia-just not the current model that they have a spec sheet for. the new ones are rated for a much higher output. There's an older one that was rated more like 15mW or so. The coherent Cubes used it, and usually are doing 16mW or so. my melles griot RCS is...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

OK, I pressed two SB217HL91s courtesy of Dr.Laser, with thermal paste in between the diode and the copper module for best heat transfer. They were then mounted in a small C6 heatsink for some heat protection and this is what I got: Basically the wavelength of these is a bit longer, around 505.7...

gonna try a 375nm pointer build...

wow. RIP little diode....and frankly, I doubt it was a NICHIA based on what you got it out of. it was probably one of the older ones like mine. What current was it rated? if you ran it double, I'm not surprised it didn't last long regardless. (and glass does absorb UV quite alot) I have a 375nm...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

It tends to change at about 500nm for most people. One side is a bit more green, the other side is a bit more blue. I personally like the 500nm range stuff. it's a very pretty blue-green color to me.

Convert a red HeNe to yellow

they were only made with the red standard fill. all of them. some came with the option for IR mirrors at extra cost in addition to red ones. they're all softseal except the 127. but a truely optimized IR one could be done at request. and orange was briefly offered then discontinued. yellow and...

Convert a red HeNe to yellow

the 124 is 70cm (rated >15mW red) the 127 is just shy of 1m (rated >35mW) the 125 is about 2m and is a cheater-it's technically 2 tubes end to end sharing a common cathode (or RF excited by option, and rated >50mW) the 124 is easier to do experiments with due to a lot of optics being <1m radius...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

Yeah its a general issue that is inherent to diode lasers in general. Which is why they're not really used for certain sciences for accuracy sake. That 492 sounds promising. I haven't had a 492nm in my hands since i fixed a friend's Calypso DPSS.

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

yeah these diodes wander a bit more with current than temperature, though higher current does contribute to more heat. The linewidth also would go up quite a bit too. The line-width of diodes in general is much wider than DPSS mind you, (if that was my 488 sapphire it'd be pretty much a straight...

Convert a red HeNe to yellow

How much red does the tube do? I've not personally tried this yet with mine. I can't imagine it would do a ton, but 1mW isn't terrible. In theory it could do more than 5 if it was optimized correctly. They're quite long. Also welcome to the 124 club, there's not many of these that still work. I...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

Well, due to the lack of case positive drivers at low current I finally got un-lazy enough to diagnose and fix my LDC240C. Assuming its calibration is intact (probably not, but likely very close) the diode I bought from Dr.Laser (an SB1573N91) is doing rated power (35mW) at 142mA when cool and...

    FS 488 solid state

I do hope someone does...I really need the money :( my lab driver is dead, amongst other things, like needing new tires for my car. I'm gonna need to do a big sale or something at this rate. and I'm sorry Alex, the comment was appreciated, even if it wasn't spoken.

    FS 488 solid state

That's what I think, but I'm not positive. it may just not be perfectly aligned too. it's hard to know without taking it apart further, but that'd make realignment really difficult and not worth the risk. and even if it's high hours, it likely will still last hundreds if not thousands more...

    Remember to exercise those argons!

yeah its been like that here too. the ar/kr or my hecd lasers often are relegated to keeping my room warm in standby

    CNI MGL-H-50 593.5nm 50mW

nice. so you finally got it huh? same model as me and lazerman121. mine has the 50mW sticker on it too, but i've gotten well over 100 out of mine too, but it does make the head get warm. I think that's why that model was cut down to lower powers. how's the beam on yours? mine is pretty thin...

    Lambda Ruby Laser Head

They may have truncated the flashing side and polished it is what it sounds like. and in theory, yeah it might I suppose...

    FS 488 solid state

Actually I’m surprised how many people are. So let me just say publicly so I don’t have to write 1,000,000,000 emails. Posted this last night really late and made myself a new image host, so ill post stuff later. And 500$ is very little for something like this ;) Stay tuned :)
