Actually the opposite of what you just said. 300mW and 600mW if focused right will pretty much burn the same whereas the difference in brightness is very noticeable!

Thanks for the sympathy. I have reported to the police as not only the lasers were stolen but my mrs new laptop, some jewellery, cash etc was also stolen. But, i can't report the lasers stolen or else I will get into trouble! Hock shops won;t take them as they are illegal and i highly doubt...

Where did you buy the laser? As Alan stated they have lied to you about the power output. The batteries can make a difference but not a 1995mW difference. Return the laser to the seller and buy a new one from a more reputable source.
