as far as I know Mitsubishi makes red laser diodes, and IR laser diodes. I suppose you may have had a dpss green built in a tin can using a Mitsubishi IR but I don't see it getting 500mw of green. For me for a green laser to be visible(the beam) in a well lit room is around 100mw, in the sun...
