    Casio Projector Parts

Hey 532, can you resize those pics please. I, and others, have to constantly scroll left to right to read the text as the photos won't fit on one page. I would do it for you but there are a few of them. 1024 x 768 pixels is too large a format, the forum asks for 800 x 600 please. I'll be able to...

Review of a Lasever LSR473-ML-100 120mW Blue DPSS Laser

Re: Review of a 120mW Blue DPSS Laser Thanks DJNY, I thought I'd read that correctly too. I know Bluesky and a lot has changed since 2004! Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about these reviews then. Don't get me wrong, they are informative, detailed and reasonably well formatted but no where...

    Is this Led'd

But when people correct you, you tell them they are wrong. That's not having a spine, that's ignorant. In the end, no-one will help you. Do you not see this? M :)

I'm confused. You direct the comment to me here and I respond. How is that getting anything in a twist and how else was I supposed to reply to that? You didn't know what you were talking about. You only thought you did. I tried to correct you but you still think you know better. Even when...

Review of a Lasever LSR473-ML-100 120mW Blue DPSS Laser

Re: Review of a 120mW Blue DPSS Laser So when were these reviews actually written then? You have updates as far back as 2006 as far as I can read. M :)

laser pointers suitable for classroom lecturing?

I think you can do much worse than the laser you have ear marked. You've had one before and liked it, it did a good job, etc, etc... Battery life will probably be a little shorter in the green as the pump diode it uses will likely be running at a higher current but I'm not sure you'd notice...

    We need some steampunk hosts...

Thanks. That's useful info for folks to log away. I've found that with my setup some batteries can cope and some can't and the behaviour of the laser differs depending on what's going on. It seems that protected batteries may give a brief flash as the protection circuit sees a short and shuts...

Need advice, weird behavior from laser firm

I have an LPM... PM me if you're ever over my way... ;) Good luck, and post some pics and a review when you get your laser. From wherever you get it! M :)

Hence I said, "To go a little bit more advanced...". I think the OP needs to work out how to run just one of these systems before intergrating all three. That's what I'm trying to steer them towards. I think you'd agree that's the sensible route. Not the quickest, but the most sensible and...

^ True enough. This is a tricky build because you're looking at three seperate things that require different voltages and currents. To go a little bit more advanced, (and quite a bit more expensive!), I'd suggest two Flexdrive drivers for the lasers. This is a buck/boost driver that would...

    Newbie needs help

It could, but you'd have to choose it carefully after knowing the rest of the parameters... Tricky for a beginner too in my opinion. A 1n400x diode would drop about 0.7V but... Yes, if you can get a 3V red module, and a 3V green, then do that and you can run the two in parallel. Why you'd...

    Newbie needs help

A green module will more than likely be 3V. A red laser will likely need more than 3V even if it's with a decent linear driver and the LED... Depends... These are things you need to work out how to run seperately first I think. Get them working independently and then try to figure a way to...

What LED? He's talking about a laser module, and 3V is fine. Hooking up an LED light as well is the next part, if he wants to. Lets just concentrate on the laser here okay? M :)

    Newbie needs help

All three what? It's just one laser we're talking about here isn't it? 3V for a common-all-garden 5mW, green DPSS laser module with driver board attached is fine. No schematic necessary, most come with a simple +ve and -ve connection that you need to join to a battery pack you can find in any...

Agreed, but... Beginners to building lasers, in particular, should be giving the best direction. The best direction is to go the proper constant current route. This means more than resistor and capacitor route, (i.e. the cheap ICs available). Otherwise we should just accept that the Klipklay...

    Is this Led'd

Seems to be the default attitude for Toaster I'm afraid. Whatever he says is correct. You'd better just get used to this until he goes and finds some other people to annoy. He may want to use a Flexdrive instead of the MicroBoost for a 445nm, but he wouldn't understand which drivers I mean...

What you say here is not inaccurate just a very risky thing to do. From some sort of bench power supply or similar it may be perfectly adequate but most of the builds here are for portable use and therefore rely on batteries as a power source. This being the case it is not usual to advocate the...

Feel the Heat. I need a mass advisory.

Listen Toaster, you're either going to get with the program or you're going to quickly find yourself out in the cold. Whatever YOU think the contraction should be, WE call it the MicroBoost, look around and get it into your head. That's just the way it is. I'm not trolling you, in fact from the...

Feel the Heat. I need a mass advisory.

Actually your incorrect Toaster. The driver you mean to quote is more fondly called the, "MicroBoost", not a BoostDrive. Any driver that can boost the voltage is a boost drive. Being specific about the product you are talking about, then the tag you are looking for is the, "MicroBoost". It is...
