    Laser Circle

Haha, ok. Using a diffraction grating or a motor and mirror? Because I think we should focus on figuring out what it is being built before we assume that one is preferred over the other.

    2GB Laser?

Reminds me of this: Gadgettown.com - Buy Best Electronic Gadgets, Laptop Parts, Computer Components, Cell Phone Accessories! I fail to see the purpose.

Turn a tennis ball into a Laser Ball

Just a suggestion, you could try making one with 1 green module, and then use the diffaction gratings. That's (probably) safe... although don't assume without testing first. Also, Leonelabs, I looked at your website and, while I was disappointed by the blog format rather than it just having a...

    Smallest Laser?

Give us some pictures! It's possible, if everything is the right size, you could buy a couple of laser modules and just use the cylinder of the laser housing as the cylinder of the gun.

Lase: Do we even know what the project is?

    Laser Circle

Uhhh... A little too much too soon guys. ttjarret: Could you tell us what your project actually is, so that our advice is grounded in something? And is it a solid circle, or a ring that you want? How perfectly circular does the circle have to be? And what's your budget? First off, as far as...

    Smallest Laser?

The link lasersbee posted will not produce a beam. The dot will be visible on the surface that it hits, unless you have some very thick smoke. You'll either need green, or a fairly high-power red and for either of those you'll need to consider heatsinking and safety... so, yeah, you're probably...

Re: BEAMSHOT COMPETITION! w/ prizes :) anyone can enter (deadline 11/18)! Personally, I think that picture above is pretty awesome. But I haven't seen the others :p

Re: BEAMSHOT COMPETITION! w/ prizes :) anyone can enter (deadline 11/18)! What? Whose picture as what background? What are you on about?:whistle::whistle:

    Greetings from the UK ^^

Just curious, why do you want a 1W handheld particularly? You can get lower powered handhelds and higher powered labbies for much cheaper. While I don't know much about scanners, I'd imagine $1000 would get you quite a nice one. Or you could buy a gas laser and get some exotic colours or ungodly...

    Greetings from the UK ^^

Yay! Another brit! Where in London? Because over my Christmas holiday I'm going to turn on the 5W Greenwich Meridian laser. I'll be posting a thread about it on here closer to the time, but I was going to invite along anyone who happened to be nearby that was interested.

BEAMSHOT COMPETITION! w/ prizes :) anyone can enter (**ENTRIES CLOSED**)!

Re: BEAMSHOT COMPETITION! w/ prizes :) anyone can enter (deadline 11/18)! Regarding the issue of person with the best beamshot picture probably not needing more lasers: Personally, I would favour the competition being using only one laser. But whatever. Too late now. In other news, I found a...

BEAMSHOT COMPETITION! w/ prizes :) anyone can enter (**ENTRIES CLOSED**)!

Re: BEAMSHOT COMPETITION! w/ prizes :) anyone can enter (deadline 11/18)! It's cheaper than a real smoke machine :p On topic: Crap! How I wish I'd seen this last week when I was at home... I could have stolen my dad's DSLR to spend ages playing with in the woods late into the night...

My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

I think those are really good pictures, even if you don't have that many lasers. Good job!

You think lasers are a for fun?

Out of curiousity, what did you usedd to do with lasers? Look at the dot up-close while burning a lot, or take reflections frequently? And what sorts of powers?

Need some help for a college project

Ok, personally I prefer cardboard to burn, although the other day I did use my 445nm laser to cut a sheet of paper in half. I'm personally finding this sheild hard to visualise though. Is it a long box made of clear, IR-blocking material? If so, possibly not appropriate since this operation...

Need some help for a college project

Woah. That's infrared. You're playing with thin ice - personally, I don't touch infrared lasers and won't be for a while. Buy safety goggles, for everyone that's going to be watching since you have no idea where the beam is going to go. But, that said, it should be able to put a hole in a sheet...

Wickeds shiny new Photonic Distributor Series!

Hahaha! I thought they'd started selling their Photonic Disrupter series again. That was a nice host. But apparently not - was just some twat necroposting.

Laser light is literally making us sick!!!

I haven't read the whole thread, but I've read through most of it. Post us some pictures of your set-up, that'd help us diagnose it, and, even if we're all sure it's motion sickness, it'll give us something fun to look at! :D A thought on the matter, what's this projector being used for? If...
