Has anyone here used a laser to do a double slit experiment?

You mean the width of the slits?

Has anyone here used a laser to do a double slit experiment?

Yup, that's the equation for two consecutive bright spots (I think they are called fringes in English)

    Hellow from down under

I knew it was UV :D Actually, it is bordering UV and Violet. Theoretically, it's UV (It's non-ionizing though)

    Hellow from down under

Yeah, I was thinking either UV or 405nm. 405nm is not invisible like the OP said, although I can imagine why someone would think it is (due to using a weak diode probably)

    Hellow from down under

Welcome! A laser with invisible beam but a bright blue spot when shined at white objects... What wavelength could that be? Is it a really weak blue laser or is the light emitted in the UV part of the eletromagnetic spectrum? Might be the latter since most blue diodes are pretty...

    Importance of decent battery chargers

Yeah, I was trying to see which battery had the highest mAh, and that's the highest I could find, so I got them. I've heard that Ultra Fire aren't the best batteries out there, but that was after I had bought them. If you can PM me the eBay seller, I would really appreciate it man :)

    Low-divergence laser pointer recommendation?

Ohh ok, I was worried for a second there XD I can't watch the video now, so I didn't know that it wasn't a handheld laser. Will check it out later though

    Low-divergence laser pointer recommendation?

3.6W of 532nm? O.O i didn't know they even existed at that power. What diode was used?

    Low-divergence laser pointer recommendation?

I think the video you're referring to was called "The Dangers of a Spartan 1W even At a 9km distance" (so 5.6 miles) I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the experiment conducted using the Arctic Spyder 3 (1W) where they pointed it at the ISS (called "ISS FLASH PROJECT"). Here's a link with the...

(Information) What is the Electromagnetic Spectrum?

I can imagine you have a library full of this kind of memes/gifs XD

Mathematics of determining the amount of heat of a laser

Like the others have said, it depends on the material (how much light is reflected/absorbed). I'm not going to repeat the information the previous guys mentioned. Try instead calculating the energy of the photons. I assume the equation for the energy of a photon is included (E=hf). Now, for...

    Importance of decent battery chargers

Oh, so you're the Larry that's mentioned in the video "A Typical Day At LPF"? I was looking for you XD First of all, thanks for the tips, even though I don't have a meter yet... will probably buy one soon though. One thing I wanted to ask you... what batteries (16340) would you recommend? I own...

Has anyone here used a laser to do a double slit experiment?

Hopefully this is not considered an old thread yet... (If it is, pretty much every thread in this section is considered old then lol) We have done it in school a few weeks ago. We used a laser of 632.8nm but it was too weak (don't know exact wattage, but prolly not even 5mW) to see the beams...

(Information) What is the Electromagnetic Spectrum?

Useful information! I would like to add that Terahertz Radiation exists and it is between infrared and microwaves, but it has very limited uses. It has similar properties to that of infrared waves and microwaves. Small detail, might not even be worth adding in the OP :P

    Importance of decent battery chargers

Alright man, thanks for the tips! (And for the reputation :P ) I had no intention of spamming, even though I realized that triple posting wasn't going to be such a good idea in the first place...

    Importance of decent battery chargers

Very informative post. Thank you! I'll check the reviews out as well

    Importance of decent battery chargers

Thanks! Very useful info and all. Thanks for the suggestion, I've heard about that specific charger before, maybe I'll actually buy it soon :) I tried +Rep but it says something about spreading rep points to other people first... will try again later

    Importance of decent battery chargers

I searched for this question here but I haven't found an adequate answer. So, here I go. I have one of those Chinese chargers (did not come with a laser-bought separately). Now I've heard that these type of chargers are a fire hazard. Is that only it though? What's the importance of a good...

    Lasers and Ionization

"Vsisible light can ionize air" Great, that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks :)
