Need advice on multi diode setup :)

You do have a point there... Maybe he could find a way to bypass the problem... maybe not. Practicality-wise, I think it would still be a better option but whatever.

Need advice on multi diode setup :)

Maybe use a beam expander along with the diode then? That way you could also change the diameter of the beam. It's much less complex this way. But wasn't he using 1W diodes? Are there single-mode 1W diodes out there? Don't think so...

Need advice on multi diode setup :)

Good luck with your project! :) One question though. Why use 5 1W diodes when you can use 1 diode? There's a 3.5W 450nm one and you could easily push it to more than 5W. You can get it from DTR here: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/ndb7a75-3-5w-445nm-diodes

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

Oh I understand how you mean it. We are saying the same thing, but from a different perspective. Truth is though, time will be moving slower for you. I mean, that's what you get from the equation for time dilation. Here are 2 examples I've found: Time Dilation Worked Examples - Including...

    haha That's great! :D

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

Thanks man, appreciate it :D Good luck with those spiders! :p Go get 'em! ahaha

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

Oh, you count time as an additional dimension. Fair enough. For a moment there I thought you meant an actual (4th) space dimension. There are countless theories out there about the number of dimensions that exist. It's been theorized that there's at least 11 of them. At least this is the minimum...

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

They like to call it "military intervention" XD I guess it sounds prettier... But we still call it an invasion. Unfortunately, one cannot visit the 37% of the island, unless you show their passport, which is illogical if you ask me. Plus, the north side of the island is now filled with criminal...

    Gearbest red pointer video review

That's a nice in-depth review there! You sound like a cool dude lol I wish I had the tools (and the knowledge/experience) to do what you're doing there. Might buy a digital multimeter in the upcoming weeks. Used it in school, very useful stuff. A couple of questions though. Why use an analog...

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

Thanks! :) Haha, of course I'm familiar with it :p We use "Chinese" instead in here lol Sounds ridiculous if you ask me XD Not implausible, but sounds really improbable lol It seems really similar to what they were saying about mini black holes forming in the LHC and how they could destroy...

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

haha thanks :p Well, it's definitely interesting and fascinating and I assume it should take at least 8 years... A PhD is a must for this kind of profession That's awesome! Are there any of his lectures online? It should be interesting to listen to some :) Thanks for the compliment, took...

Hello from Cyprus! I thought... why not?

I decided to do something different with my 100th post... I never really formally introduced myself, so here I am! Better late than never! Well, some of you may know me a bit already, but some (most) may not. I made this account back in 2013 but I wasn't intending to be really active, since...

    589nm club membership card

Sweet as always  One question though, don't you have 405,445,462,520nm to use for a more complete rainbow? :p Oh and what's up with the moth? XD I was staring at it for half a minute being like "A moth? Nah, it can't be. It must be something else..."

980nm photons more expensive than 808nm?

I was sure that someone would misunderstand what I typed there lol I am familiar with the dangers of IR lasers. I know that it is obviously much more dangerous since it is invisible to the human eye (you wouldn't close your eyes until it was too late). Of course I'm talking about using a...

I honestly doubt that he used it more, other than that one time XD

980nm photons more expensive than 808nm?

But in this thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/dpss-primer-how-lasers-work-59797.html goninanbl00d says: I'm not sure if it's for different crystals or anything like that, but it seems right Cool info, thanks :) I don't know if any of my cameras pick up IR light or if they lack IR...

Can police confiscate my laser? Yes!

Umm to be honest, it isn't really ironic (if that was your intention), since I see no correlation between the two XD I believe this to be a false analogy (the analogy of more Greeks carrying guns in Cyprus with the getting-shot-easily-in-America joke). And from where exactly did you get this...

Cheap 1w 445nm, is it good?

The other person can still see the notification, even if you haven't replied directly to his post :p

980nm photons more expensive than 808nm?

Yeah, I've thought about using an IR vewing card, but I was wondering if there was something like a pair of glasses that allow you to at least view the dot... It would be much more convenient Yeah, I've read that thread before. I already bought a 445nm laser and I decided that I wanted an IR...
